What I'm reading about this guy goes WAY beyond what the workplace considers harassment these days. I'm stunned that he is still employed.
It's ridiculous that he's still employed. I really don't understand how things reach this kind of a level. I guess I could see if it was just one thing that people let slide, but this guy is obviously a sick individual and has no business being any kind of educator.

Speaking as a recent transfer student who was sexually assaulted last semester, I wasn’t aware of the University of Georgia’s rampant rape culture—which is especially prevalent during the Red Zone.
The Red Zone is the period of time between the first day of classes and Thanksgiving, when the most reported sexual assaults occur. According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, more than 50% of college sexual assaults occur in August, September, October or November.
quote:
Kat Barker, president of Unite for Reproductive and Gender Equity (URGE), said the Red Zone “is a term that was coined by UGA officials,” and “no action has been taken to decrease the amount of sexual assaults.” Indeed, the UGA admininistration and police are fully aware of the issue, but they attribute UGA rape culture to Athens’ inevitable partying and drinking scene
quote:
Compared to other large universities, UGA has a low rate of reported sexual assaults. However, the institution discourages students from reporting. In 2014, the number of cases dropped from 72 to 11 after UGA police removed third-party reports

It really makes it worse IMO when it's an educator/coach taking advantage of a student.
Imagine if it was a senator sticking his hands down the pants of a young aide and finger raping her.

Not surprising at all to see it was Kennedy.
I'm convinced that nobody who has ever met him can stand him.

According to the filings, 16 medical students reported sexual harassment by an administrative faculty member. F. Scott Kennedy, former dean of admissions, allegedly made good-looking female students and applicants write book reports on pornographic stories.
Kennedy also asked students out for wine, made derogatory comments on female students' appearances and took pictures of young women, according to complaints.
Where in the ever-loving frick do you people at LSU find these clowns you employ?

Again, who is being harassed by requiring applicants to be attractive?
Obviously, by making employees' sexuality and physical appearance a factor in their hiring and continued employment. "Attractive" can include dress, hair, make-up, etc.
Serious question...are you this fricking stupid in real life, or is this just your Rant schtick?

Who would he be harrasing? The requirement is for the applicants to be attractive.
And obviously, they would have to stay attractive to keep their jobs. That would require dressing a certain way, always having their hair styled, makeup on point, etc, etc.
I mean, seriously, if you can't grasp that requiring that women present themselves in a certain way to maximize their sexual attractiveness to a man in order to get and keep their jobs isn't sexual harassment, there really is no helping you whatsoever.

[Niranjan Baisakh, associate professor in the School of Plant, Environmental and Soil Sciences, allegedly began sexually harassing one of his female research students in 2014, according to an LSU police report filed in 2016.
In the police report, which was first obtained by the Daily Report, the victim accuses Baisakh of allegedly entering her office, locking the door and telling her about how “everyone in the department was having immoral relationships.”
He is also facing accusations of taking unwanted pictures of her, hugging her and begging her to “please love me, please be mine,” according to the police report.
The police report also describes how as time went on, Baisakh’s actions became more inappropriate. He allegedly touched her breast and kissed her while they were in a greenhouse. When she stopped him, he allegedly threatened to kill himself, telling her she would be responsible.]

Again, these are all things that occurred after the requirement was made.
Let me try this route. A guy opens up a business and tells the manager to only hire attractive women. At that point, who has been harassed?
You are carrying the conversation passed simply making a requirement for applicants. No one is going to disagree that eventually it would have led to harassment. But, at the time of my comment, the only info we had as far as this is concerned was simply that he required applicants to be attractive. Had there been more info, I wouldn't have even asked. The way it was laid out made it out to be that the man was being accused of sexual harassment for this one action.

This is almost NCAA textbook "lack of institutional control". Seems to be real problems at almost every level.
