The SEC would crash and burn without LSU.....if anyone thought LSU was even thinking of leaving you would have AD's and head coaches (yea even Saban) beating down our door begging us to stay.
This. LSU has great athletics all around.

This isn't any different than all of the Bama whining of leaving the SEC years ago. All huffing and puffing with no substance.

Don't leave. We just got here...We thought....We thought you wanted us to be your rivals... Don't ruin Christmas.
Beating up on Arkansas in September just isn't the same as playing you guys. I guess they'll have to do.

I'd be glad to have aTm as a rival again.
Even better that we started this storied tradition off with a W over the Heisman lead team in College Station

The Aggies were a little too hospitable in College Station this year. Don't forget that we were undefeated on the road this year and that we play y'all in Baton Rouge next year.

Say all you want, but one thing is for sure about the article....he is DEAD ON about the crappy scheduling......I am certainly not agreeing with leaving the SEC (funny how you just conveniently forgot to post the rest of the article including the other five reasons why LSU should stay), but the gumps sure do have it nice and pretty with the setup in Bham

Obviously we ACTUALLY test! We are far ahead on schlocky limits (see tamu signing 34) and other compliance issues. We have the second to highest graduating rate among SEC Institutions - VANDY is first.
We compete in most major sports and have for some time. Our issue is about scheduling and how we got shafted by the bowls. In 2005 we lost the sec championship game to UGA and went to chick filet bowl. UGA whinnied about losing to Bama and USCe whined that they are an east team and deserved to be in Gator. SLIVE wanted a OU - TAMU matchup because of TAMU moving from Big 12 so LSU got screwed even though they were the 4 th highest SEC seed and the other 2 are in BCS bowls. LSU should have been in Cap 1 or Cotton with TAMU at the chick filet.

It's fun to take shots at LSU on the issue, and a great opportunity to use the words "whine" and "butthurt", but at the end of the day, it's Bama's credibility that gets hurt.

where was LSU writers when Bama had 6 straight SEC opponents 5 who had byes and Bama without one?
We all know how long the Birmingham based SEC office took to calm the Bama whining about that problem. Can you spell immediately?

The ironic thing is that despite all the whining and bitching coming from LSU fans about this year's schedule they were simply one win away from taking Alabama's place in the BCS title game against Notre Dame. If LSU holds on to win on November 3rd, they are playing Notre Dame on Jan 7th.

Make that one first down away...

Just playing mind games with the SEC home office. Would not be surprised if LSU spoon fed the whole article to him. I like the mind game aspect of this. The Rant has bitched about this, the radio pundits have bitched about this, and the fans have done likewise - it is about time LSU rattled the SEC's cage!
Remember when Oklahoma threatened to move out of the Big12 and they got the conference puppet president fired and revenue sharing installed. I dont think LSU would get anything like that unless some other teams started joining in the debate. Think if UGA, USCe, UF, and LSU threatened to go join the ACC...

Rabalais no more speaks for the typical LSU fan than Finebaum does for any fan base. His article bout LSU needs to leave the SEC was headlined on the front page of the sports section. His article bout LSU needs to stay was headlined a lot smaller & on the inside page. He was simply stirring the shite in a slow period for sports stories. I am sure his editor loves all this crap. Check out the Tiger Rant's thread on this & you'll get a better take on how rational the typical LSU fans are on this asinine subject.
