If you have a really good girl's team, you have a great chance to get somewhere. Men, not so much. You have to be really really fricking good at the right time, and get lucky, too.

It depends. If we're talking about trying to win a National Championship in the UConn era (the last decade) on the women's side it's pretty damn difficult.

If we're talking about just in general, the fact that the men have to play neutral site games from the get go increases the difficulty. As well as the distribution of talent across men's basketball vs. women's basketball.

Just making the men's tournament is more impressive than the women's championship.

Meh. I remember a lot of Final Four teams. I couldn't tell you who won the women's championship ten years ago. Sure, I'd guess Connecticut, but I don't remember.

more people will remember mens final four participants than womens national champs. When it comes to womens basketball, most casual sports fans just know the sport is dominated by UConn and was by Tennessee before that. I honestly couldn't name off the top of my head another womens champ but I could name plenty of final four mens teams that didn't win the title.

I agree, especially considering how dominant UCONN has been the last 4 years.

True, but South Carolina didn't actually beat Uconn to win the Natty.

I don't see why the men winning something is more impressive. I agree people care more about the men winning but winning a national title is equally impressive regardless of gender.

If you win a tourney that had a team with a hundred game win streak in the field, then that's pretty impressive.

Final four by a landslide. Women's sports aren't the same. Shouldn't have to tell you this.

Because men play sports better than women. It's pretty simple to grasp why it's held in higher regard. Most people just don't give a shite about women's sports.

Men's by far....but the good thing here is, we get to have both, so it doesn't matter this season anyways....

Because there not that many talented women's basketball teams. Even the final four was pretty bad basketball.

Both are impressive, but Men's Final Four is more recognized. Impressive feat either way.

Men's final four.

Ill be honest, I probably watched a combined 14 seconds of the womens final four. And it was the end of the Uconn game and only because it was on at a bar in Phoenix.

Men's, it's much harder to achieve.

Da fuq you talking about? Anybody other than UConn winning it is news. And Dawn Staley and the Lady Cocks have been the most consistent thing outside of Storrs, Conn. for several years. They earned it and deserve the praise that goes with it. I don't care if it's in underwater basket weaving, a Natty is a Natty and none of them come easy.

The men deserve kudos for making the Final Four, but that's not quite your goal. It's a great accomplishment but it's not the end of the journey. Hell, I'd take either one for my hoops programs. Gamecocks! You did the league proud.

Winning a NC is a great accomplishment, but consider that last year, in the national semi finals, UConn beat Moo St. ladies by 60 points. In a Final Four game. The best thing about this issue, though, is the Lady Cocks don't give a shite, they won the NC.

Women's basketball is like watching paint dry, but SCAR won the women's title. In five years, most people won't remember who made the Final 4, it's all about winning a championship. Don't get me wrong, it's a big accomplishment for the school, but a national title is remembered forever.
