I’ve been to a few places over the years in the south but never to the capitAL. Is it a happening place these days? I say this because there are now TWO postseason bowls - Montgomery Bowl and Camellia Bowl, both in the Cramton Bowl.

Cramton Bowl.

Played here in High School once. Heard gunshots from the parking lot as we were leaving.

You need to toughen up son. You only need to get nervous at Cramp if you see gunshots in the parking lot.

I'm not sure that I would travel there for the holidays if my team wasn't in town. As someone who has lived in the Montgomery area (9 years in the 80's, 1 year in the 90's and five years in the 00's) they really have improved downtown. There are places to go and eat but not a huge number of them. The Shakespeare Festival is a world renowned playhouse that has a range of options from Shakespeare to local theater. There is a decent open air mall area with solid chain style restaurants and a ton of Hilton and Holiday Inn type hotels on the edge of town closest to Auburn. It is easy to get to the stadium from there. It would be an easy, low key and inexpensive trip to see your team play.

That doesn't really make Montgomery unique.

Spot on. Its core area around the river has some nice things, but there has been an exodus from the city proper to areas outside Montgomery city limits.

On a side note, I knew a Para312 on the old ITAT board, it you are the same fellow, hello, and I hope you are doing well (Tiger82).

So the Sooner school is known as Oklahoma University?

I did not know that.

Gotta go to Chris’s downtown, where Hank, Elvis, FDR, Clark Gable among others would chow. Great spot :)

Born and raised very close to Montgomery. It has improved since the 80’s but I still don’t understand how so many of my old friends moved back there. It is boring AF.
