Why do you think the Vikings took Peterson when Taylor had just rush for over 1100 in the previous season?

Lawrence Taylor never played tailback.

1100 yards and an 8-8 record. That "awfense" needed a spark, and they knew CT couldn't consistently be the workhorse.

NFL teams take the best player available in the first round. Do some research dumbfrick. Why do you think the Vikings took Peterson when Taylor had just rush for over 1100 in the previous season?

ok, the Cheifs drafted Tyson Jackson and he wasn't near the best player available. the research goes both ways. Some teams do, some teams don't. Different teams have different philosophies.

He sure wasn't. Hell of a reach IMO. He wasn't even dominant in college.

hell, just look at the 1st round of last year. It could be argued that the whole top 10 were drafted because the team needed major help at that position

Last year, most teams drafted for need

Won't be the first SEC DT taken. Dan Williams will be taken ahead of him.

I've been saying DW will be top 15 if he keeps doing what he's doing...

Wow. We agree on something.

I got Williams going #12 to the Dolphins.

I'll be shocked if Cody gets drafted on the first day.

I dont want him to play for the saints, a guy that lacks that much discipline has a good possibility of being a bust, I'd rather not take that chance

Yeah, I hope we go after a DE or an OLB. We can definitely upgrade there.

The one other player that I find intriguing is the OG Iupati from Idaho. The dude is so fast, nimble and is a road grater. Even though OG is not a priority, he might be too good to pass up if he is available.

All would be solid, I'd like to pick up another corner if we could though, we lack some serious depth in that position. With all our injuries(especially to jenkins) we could have used a solid corner

there is no way cody goes first round...he will go first day though...he is being exposed at the senior bowl practices for having no explosion or commitment with his weight issues by going up almost 15 pounds...he should go mid 2nd to someone who needs a space taker...maybe a 3-4 NT so that he takes multiple blocks to help the run game....but he isnt a complete enough player to go in the first round unless someone really wants to reach...but reaching happens all the time

I think picking up a CB via Free Agency would be the best way to go.

The more I think about the more I like Iupati. Dude is going to be a stud.

I havent really seen enough of him to have an opinion, my only problem with it is that we do pretty well in the guard position, I wouldnt mind another OT in our line to make up for Bushrod though

I saw him play a few times. He has amazingly quick feet, and can get to the second level very quickly. Also plays with a nasty streak.

Would definitely be a factor in the inside running game.

Would be a steal with a late first round pick.

you are crazy to say quick feet...he has no explosion to get up field...and even the scouts are saying that....he will be a heck of a run stopper but thats it....
