What the NCAA has done to wrestling is a travesty. The scholly reductions in baseball is horse shite too.

Speaking of horses, full rides for equestrian chicks all around.

In actuality, equestrian programs are one of the better tactics for attacking Title IX requirements.

Nothing is really stopping SEC schools from adding Wrestling. According to Mizzou's own study, wrestling is one of the cheapest sports to maintain in the NCAA. It also not hard to find another sport for the women.

They don't add wrestling because they don't care about wrestling. Outside The Citadel, I don't think their is another D1 wrestling program in the south.

Exactly... wrestling is a pretty terrible spectator sport... basically two dudes in women's bathing suites rolling around on each other.

And blaming Title IX for killing wrestling in the south is bullshite... blame all the money spent on football for killing meaningless men's sports.

Their MAC title??

The Hawkeyes are wearing the wrong singlets in that picture.

And you're still bitching about the duals "title"? If Iowa would have beaten us (in their own gym), you'd be bringing it up every time someone said Mizzou wrestling. Instead you're reduced to comparing it to a fictional county wrestling match. That's kinda sad.

No I wouldn't. Because nobody cares. Because it's meaningless. There's a reason why Iowa held out half of its starters. By one match Mizzou was able to squeak by what was basically Iowa's B team.

Look at the results of the NCAA tournament and you'll realize why the best wrestling teams never win the NWCA National Duals. Mizzou didn't have a single wrestler reach the finals of the NCAA tournament. It's just such a new money thing to do to beat your chest about winning a NWCA event. It's embarrassing.

Gotta disagree. A final round or extra period bout it about as intense as it gets.

It's not the best, due to all the dicks, but it can be intense.

Nobody in this thread was beating their chest about it. And you are confirming your typical idiocy.

Somewhat agree, but Iowa, Iowa St, Okie St etc have successful programs and not sure but Iowa Wrestling attendance probably outdraws a number of Div I college BB programs and is profitable.

I am too lazy to google and like has been said, about as meaningful as Arkansas Track & Field and Cross Country titles.

Almost like trying to kind KY football fans. I play golf with a KY fan that is a KY BB fan, but doesn't care much about football.

Iowa held an outdoor wrestling meet in Kinnick Stadium vs Okie State and had an attendance of 42,287

Chattanooga has a team. If you consider North Carolina part of the south, then you get Duke, NC State, UNC, App state, Campbell, and Davidson. But yeah, not much other than that.
