Including the 4 freshman, we have 18 WR's on the roster, sure there are a couple of walk on's, but add to that 7 TE's.

Just to put things in perspective.

Must be a lot of walk-ons, otherwise your coach is an idiot. 85-25= Only 60 players not play playing TE/WR......

We only have 2 scholarship TE's on the team, and one walk on transfer from Colorado who was on scholarship there. If we're depending on true FR and walk ons at WR/TE we're in a lot of trouble.

Yeah I see that he only had 3 catches for 61 yards, which as a freshmen playing on a team with some very good WRs including two seniors is understandable. Not a huge deal in terms of losing production but it'll hurt next year when he's a junior.
Also, I keep seeing where Mizzou fans are excited about their TEs next year and how theu might get more involved with the offense to help with the losses of last year's WRs. You say there are 7 TEs on the roster, which one or two are expected to come out on top and contribute the most this season? I only see where 2 TEs caught a pad last year, one a senior and the other a freshman that just caught one ball.

I'd also like to point out that I have avoided the shitshow for 4 pages but I know kilo misses me.

There's three: Culkin (sophomore), Reese (RS freshman), and Blanton (freshman). Culkin was the #1 TE in spring and walk-on Clayton Echard was #2. We also have RS freshman walk-on Austin Ray. He was a three star Missouri TE that went to Colorado on scholarship, but then transferred back to Mizzou as a walk-on.

Waters was our staring TE last season, but was primarily a blocker. It sounds like he has a great shot at making the Steeler's team despite not getting drafted. Culkin and Reese are both already supposed to be good receivers, but neither were great blockers last season. With Lucas, L-Wash, and DGB gone, both will probably be used a lot more as receivers. I don't know if Echard will hold onto that #2 spot and see playing time or not. He might be our best blocker at TE, and if so, he'll see the field plenty.

Show him the door if he has recurring discipline problems. 3* WR's are replaceable. As Barney Fife liked to say... "You gotta nip it in the bud". Most 18-22 year old males are going to break a few rules. Get rid of the guys who are too dumb to avoid being caught breaking the rules.

His last discipline problem was BS...going off on the shitheads at the student center is commendable in my opinion. I've liked this kid ever since.

There are 18 WR's and 7 TE's on the team as much as we have 118 players on the roster. Obviously, 30+ of those guys no one has ever heard of and aren't on scholarship.

WR: Sasser(Sr), Hunt(Jr) and White(Sr) will lead the group. They have various amount of experience but not great numbers, which is probably more indicative of having so many WR's last year than their lack of ability.

Leftwich(Jr) and Moore (RSFr) will have to contribute where they never have before. Leftwich because of injury and Moore because he was redshirted.

Those guys I'm comfortable with but that's only 5 WR's. The remaining help will have to come from walkons and true freshmen.

Otte (walk on) was my sleeper to actually contribute even before DGB was let go and Copelin suspended. He has done nothing but impress in his opportunities in scrimmages, to the point I didn't think the staff could ignore him. Now, they probably really can't.

Brown (Fr) was probably going to play as a true freshman. Now it is probably guaranteed.

Blair (Fr) and Lee (Fr) probably would have been redshirted but now both may burn their redshirts.

Richard (Fr) and DiLosa (Fr) will probably still redshirt as I think there's more than enough production from the above group.

Laurent (walkon) won't play.

That's 12 WR's (10 scholly 2 walk on) who are legit or close to legit options. The rest are on roster in name only.

TE: Culkin (So) and Reese (RSFr) will vie for time. Echard I believe is a walk on who currently is ahead of Reese on the depth chart, played some last year and may play some this year, but the other 2 are the primary players. Blaton is an incoming freshman who I suspect will redshirt, though the staff is high on him.

The excitement about TE has less to do with who is playing the position and more to do with Henson, our OC going into his 2nd year. It's been forever since Mizzou had a TE put his hand on the ground. That changed last year under Henson. While Henson has always intended to involve the TE more in the passing game, we just had so many WR's last year, that they were never really utilized. Culkin can catch the ball. Waters (the senior) was more of a pure blocker than receiver. I fully expect Henson to involve the TE more in the passing game because 1. the WR corp has thinned out 2. Culkin is a better receiver than Waters was.
