Missouri needs to start recruiting better. They recruit like they were a middle of the pack ACC or B1G team. I think they got beat by Vandy several of the last 5 years

We lost to Vandy twice.

Also won the East twice over a host of teams that "recruit better"

Truthfully?

I like the fact the SEC is more competitive and the games matter every week.

But, Mizzou is a better fit in the Big 10. The people of Missouri have more in common with the other Midwest schools then they do with the cousin kissing south and that queer east texas school.

Geographically we fit in better with the B1G and we already have a few rivals in that conference.

However, the SEC is the cream of the crop when it comes to college football. Better fans, better venues, and way better atmospheres. I love the SECN too. They've show more than 60% of Mizzou's games this year.

I think most logical people would agree that we are a better fit for the B1G.

B1G West would be much less travel than the SEC East. Reignite rivalries with Nebraska, Illinois, and possibly kansas. Better academic conference. Better basketball conference (we yankees do care about roundball, despite being worst ever right now). Actually have wrestling (personal preference again). Down on baseball (we don't like college baseball). Looks like a pretty great fit to me, but I've been in that camp since the beginning.

The Big Ten Network has a lot of excellent programming and shows, just FYI. Lightyears better than the SECN when not showing games.

The MU Nebraska game was always much more exciting that any SEC game they currently play. PLus Kansas will end up in the B1G eventually anyway. Much better fit up north IMO.

No. No, they wouldn't. But keep telling yourself whatever you need to. We're SEC and not going anywhere.

Something we actually agree on.

I agree. I don't think we would ever move unless a very specific set of events happened.

Travel/Geography/Weather(similarity)
B1G West vs SEC East- advantage B1G
Football
advantage SEC
Basketball
advantage B1G
Rivals
advantage B1G
Baseball
Mizzou baseball isn't SEC, much more B1G in terms of competitive.
Softball
SEC
Wrestling
B1G
Other Olympic sports
SEC
Academics
B1G
TV Network
SECN = B1GN : B1G with better programming, SECN with more money, for now.

Final Tally: 5.5 B1G, 3.5 SEC, tie networks(giving SECN benefit of the doubt).

I have no problem saying the SEC is better at certain sports and things, because it is in some areas.

But when it comes to logical fit, I'm not sure you could convince me otherwise.

Missouri weather is closer to weather of the BIG schools, but I think we fit just fine in the SEC. Would not want to switch and it is not happening!

Delaney kicks himself in the arse daily for not negotiating with Mizzou in good faith.

Now, stuck with Nebraska and whoever else they added. Nebraska's one redeeming quality is gone.

One of the most satisfying games I have ever been to was MU vs NE in 2003 when they beat them for the first time in like 22 years. We all rushed the field tore down the goalposts and carried them all the way to Harpos! Most fun I have ever had at a football game.
