Y’all fricked up when y’all let Tony Vitello get away. And then you had a chance to redeem yourself, and you turned him away again and hired a coach that is now the coach at Jacksonville State. As a UT fan, Thank you for making it possible for the Vols to hire him

Vitello asst @ Mizzou- 2003-2010
NCAA Regionals- 7
NCAA Super Regionals- 1 ( 2006)
Final ranking in top 25- 4
Finished year with Winning record- 8
Last NCAA app prior to Vitello- 1996

Mizzou After Vitello- 2011-Current
NCAA Regionals- 1 (2012)
NCAA Supers- 0
Final Ranking Top 25- 0
Finished year with winning record- 6
Last NCAA Appearance- 2012

NCAA Regionals from 1965-02- 8
NCAA Regionals under Tony 2003-10- 8

Had your chance to be good at baseball and you dumb bastards didn’t know what you had till it was to late. Now you have no chance to hire him.

You were just crying in the mike bianco thread about people trolling about regular season games being irrelevant while not considering for a second you and a fun group of vol fans are complete cock suckers at every opportunity you can be

He’s not wrong though. Hiring Bieser over Vitello had the fan base up in arms. Vitello was such an obvious hire.

Jim Sterk was a lousy AD and why the Board of Curators overruled him in the football coaching hire and hired Drinkwitz.

Missouri would seem to be the perfect place to build a college baseball power. Money is available, the folks there love baseball, and you can draw players from around the Midwest.

An example of why getting the right coach, and avoiding the wrong coach, is so important in college sports.

That was definitely a screwup on Mizzou's part.

One of Vitello best coaching jobs was working with Max Scherzer. Jamieson and Vitello shut him down in the middle of the season and completely changed his footwork. Scherzer would throw pitches and his hat would fly off.

Jamieson was Mizzou’s HC for 22 years he left in 2016 and came back this year as the pitching coach.

He should have been the hire. He played for Mizzou, assistant for Mizzou for 8 years, and he’s from St. Louis Missouri. I can understand not wanting to take a chance on him the first time when he left for TCU. But overlooking him a 2nd time was jsut criminal.

Even though I am glad Missouri overlooked him. Not sure they would be able to hold onto him, but it would have been hard to get him out of his hometown. He is a Loyal person, and that’s why he’s not leaving UT now, since we gave him his 1st shot and made him the youngest HC in the SEC at the time.

And also the fact that he hasn't any other offers

Don’t be stupid! It’s a known fact that LSU called to check his interest when PM retired. He told yall he wasn’t interested and staying at UT. UT can and will match any offer that any school makes. UT gave him a raise when LSU called and made him the highest paid coach in SEC at the time.
