I miss playing Nebraska in football. I would love to see Mizzou/Nebraska split Arrowhead and play a game there every year.

Big 12 basketball here in KC is an event that I definitely miss.

Overall I could not be more thrilled with the SEC move. Wife and I have been able to travel to several football games and we are always warmly welcomed and have enjoyed the SEC towns we have been in so far.

I also miss the "not trying to fit in." Missouri simply isn't a "southern" state. A lot of people tried way too hard, buying an entire new wardrobe and such.

Agree with all of this, especially on this board. The supposed Mizzou fans who don't miss any of the Big 8 schools really must have just started being fans in last 10 years. I agree the football is a step above in the SEC (basketball a step below) but I had 30 years of playing and visiting Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, KU...

Did Texas and OU (and Nebraska) basically cause this? Sure but doesn't mean it doesn't suck what college sports has become.

Now as for A&M, Tech, Baylor, and Texas there were some great teams and games but no real history.

Are these schools really worth missing?
Avg Attendance
ISU 52000
KSU 53000
OSU 54000
KU 34000.....70% capacity (dang)

Nothing against Missouri at all. Are these four teams great fanbases? Or is it that you are more familiar with them?

+1, agree. How long would LSU/Aub/UGA/OM let ut/ou tell them to sit at the kiddy table?

I miss the Big8 days, but those are long gone. The SEC is the best thing that every happened to Mizzou sports...period and end of discussion. Destroying ku or playing the nubs would be okay. But I can wait until that bowl match-up, we'll be ready. It's time to kick-in the SEC door in AtL and win the "whole enchilada".
