Craig Kuligowski, the best DL Coach in CFB, has followed Pinkel for 20+ years. Kuli has turned down defensive coordinator positions at other schools such as Illinois to stay DL coach at Missouri

To put into perspective, Kuligowksi has had a player named to an All Conference 1st or 2nd team every year since 2001. 7 of the past 8 years he has had a 1st team All Conference DL

Some of the CK DL Heroes

3* DE Aldon Smith - 1st RD pick
3* DT Ziggy Hood - 1st RD pick
5* DT Sheldon Richardson - 1st RD Pick
3* DE Markus Golden - 2nd Rd Pick
3* DE Shane Ray - 1st RD Pick SEC DPOY
4* DE Kony Ealy - 2nd RD Pick
0* Atiyyah Ellison - 3rd RD Pick
3* DE Michael Sam - SEC DPOY

lol think about how deflating it'd be to be ranked a 0 star.

If Odom becomes head coach or leaves Mizzou after this year, I think we will have to make him DC if we hope to keep him.

If we hope to keep him, we will have to make him the DC. That means we either hired Odom, or Odom left to be a HC.

Kul played at Toledo, but thats his only other tie besides Mizzou.

Illinois almost hired him last year as DC...and it wouldn't surprise me if he is in their search again..maybe even as a HC.

Charles Harris was basically the same...Mizzou was the only FBS program that offered him. It was between Mizzou and Missouri Western I think Yahoo gave him 2 stars because Mizzou offered but otherwise he was completely unranked.

BTW, I think the short answer is if Odom gets hired, there's at least a decent chance he stays on as DC. If Odom doesn't get hired, I would be shocked if Coach Kul didn't go somewhere else unless we hired a (current) non-head coach somewhere else who didn't have a staff already in place to come with him, in which case it's possible he could stay.

There are definitely programs out there who would snatch him up to be their coordinator, but he's been here for 15 years so hopefully he sticks around (not bloody likely).

I wouldn't mind giving him $1mil+ if he would take a DL coach role.

Whatever amount of money seems absurd, offer it.

Right now he has Walter Brady a FR 2* from Alabama and has him at like 5/6 sacks too.

Auburn can't find DEs and Mizzou is getting 2* freshmen from Alabama performing better than Auburn's entire DL

Wrong. Kul and Pinkel just used that to justify giving him a HUGE raise. Kul wasn't seriously considering Illinois especially when that team was in turmoil.

UF can afford to pay him and we should. Blank check and no state taxes and all this sunshine. He'd be in heaven.

Thank you!

Seriously, from what I understand, Kul looks at athleticism and body type. Less at football skills. If they are athletic, have the right frame, and like to hit, he will teach them the position. And it works.

Oklahoma offered him an insane number at one point and he turned them down. Unlikely he will take anything less than a DC job somewhere.
