I guess this is as good a time as any to ask, so here goes:
What the hell does "Hail State" mean?
I see it all over Mississippi State stuff. The endozones, these uniforms, all the marketing... I just don't get it though. Nothing about "hail" makes me think "Mississippi State!" I makes me think "Carsar!" or "Hitler!"
I want to like State - my grandfather went there, a friend of mine in Houston went there - but "hail state" is the dumbest slogan. State's marketing people are pushing it SO HARD but it just isn't catching on.

"Hail" is a pretty common word, especially in college athletics.
It's been the title of their fight song forever. It's not a new thing at all. State fans have always said it, and it's pretty self-explanatory as to what it means.

So you're saying if Auburn put War Eagle on theirs or Ole Miss put Hotty Toddy on theirs it would be normal

I think they're terrible. But that's probably just because maroon is such a god awful color.

I like them. Stripes are far better than what they had last year. I'd get rid of the "Hail State" on the front, though.

We're not putting that on our uniforms or endzones though. I'm not saying take it out of school songs. I'm saying it's weird to base your whole identity around it. And coming from an Aggie, being called weird should be a major indictment.
