State is averaging 31.2 yards per game. Some of you on here like to ask, "why are you guys drinking the Mullen kool-aid so much, and what has he proven so far?"

Mullen hasn't won a ton of games yet, but if you have watched State football as much as I have, it's easy to tell that the product on the field is much better, and this is just one indication. And it's not just Mullen. Our defensive coordinator, Manny Diaz is doing a great job as well. Jackie Sherril teams seemed to almost always lead the league in penalties, and we all know Crooms was a joke.

When y'all learn to not turn the ball over in conjuction with fewer penalties y'all can play with anyone.

I think we'll definitely improve there. We walked into Tiger Stadium and shite our pants. Hopefully we learned from it. Relf looked a lot more disciplined last week. I know Georgia's defense isn't quite the same as LSU's but Relf was throwing the ball away, throwing the ball where defenders couldn't get to the ball, etc.

Your reasoning is flawed, if not altogether illogical. You claim Sherrill teams seemed to lead the league in penalties, but Sherrill was Mississippi State's winningest coach. Croom's teams were very disciplined as far as penalties. His last year they only averaged 44.2 penalty yards per game, but State was 4-8.

Mullen may be turning it around, but I hope you have better reasons for supporting him than this.

The point of the thread was just to point out that we were leading in this category. And I was just pointing out that Mullen was keeping his team disciplined. And I don't know where you got that stat but Crooms teams were anything but disciplined.

We are in the same turnover boat that State is in. We haven't had a good turnover ratio in recent memory.

At Mississippi State is is called "avoiding" penalties. If it happens at Alabama it is called "favoritism."

Bobby Bowden's Florida State teams were always among the most penalized teams in the nation during their heyday. Due to that lack of discipline, they only finished in the top 5 for 14 straight years.
