Of the names that have been thrown out there, this is as good a name as I have seen.

Not true. My main concern with Moorhead was that he was a shitty coach. Sark knows how to coach.

Maybe as a coach, but he isn't a good fit. A divorced Iranian from the West Coast isn't going to fit in at Mississippi State, no matter how many games he wins, which won't be many.

Wow. You are a fricking a-hole.

I know if you do pull him away, and let's be honest... Sexton is his agent, it will be a good hire and we hate to see him go.

BUT, don't count out Sexton getting him more from us.

You all should know that game from the Mullen years

I really don't care - I'm just saying that he won't fit in with the Mississippi State fanbase. Sorry that it came across like that.

My point is that MSU fans are generally good folks that care about God and family first. They have a connection to MSU - we don't attract a lot of sidewalk fans. The sidewalk fans that live within Mississippi's borders are Alabama and LSU fans.

Ole Miss is the better school, its well known, and it produces more attorneys and bankers and such that dominate small town culture. Ole Miss folks look down on State folks and when you add the rest of the SEC and nation look down on Mississippi - MSU is the bottom of the barrel culturally.

State needs to hire a coach that can either:

play to the family aspect (someone like Joe Judge who he and his wife went to MSU and have four kids decked out in maroon and white)

embrace the culture and make us proud (Sherrill and especially Mullen did a great job at this, even poking back at Ole Miss a little)

or someone that doesn't give a crap what others think (Leach would be in this category).

Sark is a guy from California who played at BYU and in Canada and spent 15 years on the West Coast before rehabbing in Tuscaloosa. State is a stepping stone or a paycheck to him. He won't embrace MSU and he cares what others think of him. Its just not a good fit. Moorhead tried to fake it and it didn't work.

It's a new coach candidate every day! Entertaining.

Sheesh. If Sark does get the job and wins, he is family.

If Joe Judge had gotten the job and then didn't win, all of that other BS that you are talking about wouldn't have saved him just like it didn't save Matt Luke or Rockey Felker.

Going to say this again. You had that with Moorhead. The man literally came in and in 2 years was in the hearts of the prospects and community. He answered the call to help out kids with no Christmas at all when NON PROFITS WOULDN'T. He didn't even get press for that because he didn't want it nor to use a good deed like some snake oil salesmen.

So I don't believe you when you say this is a must. BTW... Judge is a yankee.

Moorhead did that. In fact, better than those 2 you mentioned.

And he was willing to make changes unlike Croom.

Oh what fresh BS is this! There is NO WAY Ms St fans could handle Leach. Is is way off the charts when sating what's on his mind. If you think Moorhead's pound sand and kick rocks comment toward the few idiots that cost you a recruit was out there....

Leach would have called them out by name! and much worse.

Well that's not true. Both schools do certain things well. I would agree that Ole Miss's specialties (i.e., law and medicine) are more "shiny" than State's specialties (i.e., agriculture, engineering, veterinary science), but that does not make OM a better academic institution. And I have a degree from each, so I think I'm as unbiased of a State fan as you'll find on the topic.
