I hope this isn't another Tyler Hilinski situation.

RIP young man.

Prayers go out to his family and loved ones. Anytime we lose a 19 year old it is tragic. So sorry for way to early departure. May God rest his soul.

We get upset about winning and losing games or making silly comments on here. This is real. This is what matters. Condolences to the family and to all State fans. This is unbelievably sad news.

Makes me think it might be suicide… what a sad deal.

That was my first thought too. I lost a friend a few weeks ago to suicide and that's exactly how we all sounded. I feel for the young man and horrible for the survivors. It's not the kind of thing you can just get over.

Suicide would be awful. Known too many people who did that and it’s just terrible on the family.

Prayers to the family of this young man

I don't know why people above are writing BS about open borders, etc. I see no reason to think this was a fentanyl case.

Even if it was fentanyl, WTF does that have to do with people expressing grief and condolences about his passing?

Some people are just so ate up with hate that it's etched into their eyeballs. They can't see anything that's not tainted by that hate in some way or the other.

It's sad. Truly sad.

I sincerely hope that his parents, friends and loved ones don't read this board and think that we're all asshats like those two fricknuts. I'm an LSU homer, and I give State fans a lot of smacktalk, but it's still just a game in the end.

This kid's demise doesn't deserve to be used, abused, and served up on a fanatic's silver platter to advance some political grievance. Let's all just take a moment, breathe, and acknowledge the loss of a young life.

And, if some of y'all can't keep your mouths shut long enough to let that happen, then hop your filthy asses over to the poli board where somebody gives a crap.

Just my two penny's worth, and sorry to Mulkey Man for hijacking his response.

This is like the 4th MSU football player to die while on the roster in the last 30 years or so:

1991: DL Rodney Stowers broke his leg in a game vs UF, died of an embolism five days later

1997: RB Keffer McGee drowned in a swimming pool a week before two-a-days started

2010: DE Nick Bell succumbed to cancer, just weeks after he had started vs UGa

And now Westmoreland. Just tragic.

RIP.

If suicide I just want to say that it hurts to see a kid who couldn't wait the down feeling outs. There are a lot of ups and downs at that age. And he would have certainly had a lot more good times as a young man.
