You witnessed the "cowbelling"? That's one thing I don't like about them, I'd hate to get cowbelled in the face during a football game

Eta: I re-read your post. Looks like you're talking about inadvertent cowbellings. I was referring to the incident a few years ago

Who are we kidding?

All the college sports fan traditions are stupid. but a tradition of stupid brought out only for a specific event amongst a large crowd of like minded individuals is how beautiful memories are made.

beautiful, stupid, memories.

I think it's pretty cool actually. I wish they didn't allow them in the stadium but that's just a personal opinion.

Always wondered though, does every single person have one? I'm with the other guy who said it would be annoying to lug around all day. But you are probably an outkast without one.

This Gameday is going to work against State. We just hosted the best Gameday of all time and had the best Guest Picker of all time. I can't think of who State is going to get for a guest picker, and their fans are loud and obnoxious as shite. This will be the perfect Exhibit A and B for Ole Miss vs State, and I'm simply thrilled they're hosting Gameday.

Yeah, just drunk people getting overzealous and accidentally hitting people.

I've never owned one. I don't mind them.

But embarrassed? Only immature people with insecurities would be concerned about trivial matters. But it does make a good target for other fanbases.

That's what I'm saying. Y'all are gonna come out looking even better and state is gonna get embarrassed nationally. They might have the best guest picker segment ever, one that blows Katy Perry out of the water. But no one will watch it cause they'll turn their TVs off the second they hear that god awful, incessant clamoring.

I think a large appeal of college football vs pro football are the unique things that each fanbase does (such as a cowbell) over the homogeneous product that is the NFL.

Hold on there fella. What happened last week will mostly be forgotten by the masses by Thursday. I mean congrats and all but you thumping your chest say "best ever" when referring to Gameday is kind of like claiming to have the prettiest dog in the litter. When all is said and done it's still just a dog. But that fits in well with most preconceived notions of OM fans. We will have to listen to this for the next 20 years but it was your 15 secs of fame so I'll allow it.

Is gameday something to get excited about? I feel like it is one of those things that used to be a big deal when I was younger, but I don't even bother watching anymore.

I guess it is good exposure though.

It's hard to take an college seriously that brings high school noise makers to a game. It makes no difference how good your football team is.

I've started tuning into the SEC channel's gameday. I think the only reason they're coming to starkville is to cut production costs. Hey, let's just move this set right down the road.

But hey, the best gameday ever was last weekend. It definitely tops back in 1998 when that school nebraska or maybe it was Ohio State hosted it. Come to think of it, it may have been Florida State. Yeah that was the greatest one.
