Regardless, the time for them to step up and make a play was that final Alabama drive and they didn't have it in them. Athletic players, no doubt, but they left their clutch on the sidelines with 1:30 left.

In the last min. of both halves Bama was combined 8-8 for 109 yards passing plus 26 rushing 9 1st downs for a total of 137 yards and 14 points. The other 58 min. they were 6-19 for 56 yards passing with 140 rushing =196 total with 10 1st downs. 7 points . Bama's offense was really good for 2 min. and not so good for 58.This was because LSU's defense is really good not because Alabama's Offense isn't. My point is there were some really great players on both sides of the ball and that may have resulted in fewer big plays than usually.

Haven't you learned that the only thing than calling LSU's DEs overrated, is admitting that their stadium is not magical/mystical, and does not will their team on to victory in the clutch... as evidenced by Saturday night.

With all the overrated players on both teams that I've been reading about since Saturday night, I'm beginning to think these two teams should be ranked somewhere between Louisville and Oklahoma State.
