Dinardo is a very underrated coach. A lot of people think of him in the same breath as Hallman which is beyond stupid.

Being a Bama fan,I doubt it was on purpose...

Didn't realize an 11-2 record including a 24-21 win over the 'dominating' Bama means going to mediocrity.

Any idiot can win with the talent in the state of Louisiana.
another unsubstantiated comment from a rival fan. louisiana has a population of 4 million people, which is 66% the size of houston. LSU's success is one of the reasons why people have the idea that the state produces so many talented athletes. yes, la. produces a lot, but per capita not so many. lsu has to go out-of-state every year in order to sign a full complement of sec caliber players. however, i have found that when a person or organization enjoys success, there is no shortage of competitors stepping up and voicing excuses for said success. they are lucky, they have better talent, etc, etc, etc. you don't want to give miles any credit do you. at least be honest.

Why can't most LSU fans admit this? He wasn't that bad, especially after what LSU had recently been through...
and he left the cupboard pretty full when saban took over. not discounting saban at all; i think he's certainly one of the best hc's in college football and argueably the best. dinardo shot himself with the tepper deal and deserved to be canned for allowing poor defensive coaching (worse than poor) and not taking action.

You see more and more oppposing fans admitting that Miles is a good coach, but there is still a contingent of "sidewalk fans" that skim the surface of college football and watch ESPN "not top 10's" that still think he is a bumbling idiot.

I'll be honest as I can.
LSU had a better team in both 2007 and 2010 and honestly they underachieved with both.
I think Miles is an unorganized goofball who has a different way of getting players motivated. He's the anti-Saban. It seems like everything is done on a whim and decisions made on a hunch.
It'll catch up to him at some point.
I think it's more of a reflection of how great the football and athletes in the state of Louisiana are than how good a coach Les Miles is.

How can you underachieve with a national championship? And with an 11-2 record?
Seems to me that, for some reason, Miles is just held to a much higher standard then any other football coach in the country where a national championship with a 12-2 record and another 11-2 record is considered 'underachieving.' Apparently, winning isn't enough for him to be considered a 'good' coach, he has to win every game in a blowout to be considered 'good'

A handful of games doesn't equal 'everything'

Isn't winning the goal of a head coach? Hell, Miles won 11 games with a dead last passing game, offensive coordinator that was bat shite crazy, and a QB who has problems passing.

Of course you do. You don't want to admit he is a great coach. There are so many variable that go in to making a great head coach, you can't say because miles seems "to do things on a whim" that he doesn't get credit for LSU succeeding. Those comments just show you lack of depth in football knowledge

This shows you have no idea what you are talking about. Also, you don't win 62 games in six years and a national title without being a good coach. Thanks for exposing your limited knowledge about football.

FTFY.
63-17 and some people still can't give the guy credit.

Oh,for Pete's sakes. Yep,Louisiana high school players are so amazing they need zero coaching in college,no game plan, etc.
Alabama HS football is pretty impressive, too. I guess Alabama's talent alone makes Saban overrated.

By losing to Kentucky. In football.
For a group that gives us a ton of grief over "coach worship" y'all are quick to come to the defense of a guy that hasn't been to Atlanta since that '07 championship.

Again... Archer, Hallman, and yes, DiNardo.
Edit: Also, according to many pundits, Alabama is raking in the most talent most years, not LSU.

shite, a whole 3 years. So if bama isn't in Atlanta this year or next, you're going to jump off the Saban bandwagon?
