And certainly way more beloved than that Shere Khan dick.

That sucks.

I love Mike. Best live mascot in CFB. Bar none.

I hope they take good care of him. Make him feel comfortable. Poor fella.

That really sucks.

Do Tigers get cancer out in the wild and we just never hear about it because of a shorter lifespan or something?

There's rarely cause or occasion to autopsy them in the wild, especially since their native habitats aren't exactly first-world countries with the leisure to waste time and money on that sort of thing.

I heard today that he would be euthanized. My 9yo daughter heard about him earlier today at school and actually said a prayer for Mike before she went to bed. I was almost in tears. All I could say was that I'm sure he has the best people possible taking care of him.

That really sucks. I hope they wait a while before introducing his successor. Will they look for another hybrid? Best way to go, imo.

Makes my eyes so itch and watery.

What?

Shut up and leave me alone.

Stupid allergies.

I was on campus and walked by his cage that day. Mike was extra badass that day.

Tigers in the wild are in the wild and aren't monitored and don't get tested for cancer... So yes. Animals everywhere of all kinds get cancer all the time. It sucks. But it's reality. Cancer isn't some new invention that humans are spreading.

There is only one documented case of a shark being found with cancer.
