That's not what LSU fans were saying about the Alabama Game. In fact, it was the dream season of winning a ring and a Heisman

Mike & Mike? Who cares? What did Skip Balis or Bomani Jones say?

What you have with LSU is the clash of generations.
Mike and Mike are older guys and look at LSU the way my generation does. The same way we look at Florida. LSU's national titles were an anomaly's that in 03 they won one just because it had been 50 years and 07 won it because...Not sure why they won it but anyway, we look at LSU as a bowl team but not a perennial contender. A team that can jump up and bite you if you aren't paying attention. A top 15 program but not much more.
You have a younger generation that have known LSU being top 10 for a good part of their lives. LSU should compete for a national titles every year and win the SEC every year and that LSU is one of the 2 or 3 top programs in America.
This is also on the minds of the people doing the hiring and firing. They are older and know what LSU was up until the 2000's and are hesitant to just assume LSU can win with anybody. There's the crux of the whole indecisiveness.

LSU fans need to realize that teams like Arkabsas, ole miss, and MSU have closed the talent gap in recent years
Ole Miss may have closed the gap a little, but there is still a gap.
Arkansas and MSU? No.

Has almost nothing to do with this.
Not sure why this is so hard to understand.

Marcus spears talked about the Alabama problem at length yesterday.
I'm sure you are more connected with the program though

LSU fans wanted to fire him when he lost to UT a wk or so after Katrina hit La. LSU lost in the second half when his players ran out of gas, mentally & physically. Many players had family crammed into their dorm rooms due to the flooding in N.O. One had 13 family members in his room. 5-6 were the norm. With school closed, many were helping out in the PMAC when it was turned into an ER triage facility & where over 25 evacuees died while being treated for their injuries. No coach in America could have done what CLM did under those extreme circumstances yet LSU fans wanted to run him off then & there. Nothing has really changed since.

Do you wait for a house to burn down before you build a new one?

Nah-Mike & Mike suck and their show sucks. The only thing that sucks worse is listening to them pitch products while reading from a cue card. It's like radio for ruh-tards. The fact that they're saying this has now made me re-think my position that LSU should keep Les.

I'm not saying it hasn't helped, but much more importantly is the overall SEC failures.
13-10, back to back blow out losses to a really bad Arkansas program, etc. If he was winning most of his other games and still losing to Bama, it would be an annoyance; not a career-ending casualty.
