MLB scouts seem to think Cox is the best prospect in the Southeast.

But hey, what do they know?

a lot. too bad that has nothing to do with this thread. i have heard the drawbacks for gibbs as a pro prospect and they're legitimate. what that has to do with being the best player right now in the sec...well i dont know.

They know he doesn't have the defensive skills to play third in the bigs and maybe not even second. He's got a hell of a bat, but he's not much in the field.

As an all-around player, Gibbs gets the nod. But of course, Cox is a monster at the plate... better than Gibbs.

You give up offense in the bigs, if you have a guy that can produce at the plate.

Cox was Cape Cod MVP last year.

I'm just saying. The kid is awesome at the plate. He lacks skills in the field. His offense more than makes up for it... but when baseball guys talk about best all-around baseball players, it's tough to wrap yourself up in a one-dimensional guy when comparing him to a skilled defensive catcher with comparable numbers at the plate.

Cox is considered by most, if not all to be the best 3B in the nation right now.

I don't believe I mentioned Eibner in my post but okay, I can play that too. Ranaudo will be taken before Eibner and Cox even get their first call.

Cox will probably be a top 10 pick. And don't say Ranaudo should be the #1 pick.

how the frick can you say they sweep. Plus that's something your team didn't do and LSU took advantage of which is something LSU has done since the 80's.
Also, I'm not surprised you dismiss the fact that LSU's friday night ace was on the shelf. If we have him, we likely sweep you.

Ranaudo was slated as the number 1 pitching prospect for this years draft all the way back to last year before his elbow gave him troubles. He's still trying to work back to full strength.

Now they are saying it is possible for the guy from Ole Miss to pass him as the #1 pitching prospect in the draft.
