I called this loss for Ole Miss before the season. Memphis had the bye week and has a Top 10 pick playing QB

Memphis is a very good football team that would beat several SEC teams.

This is not a flame but Memphis is probably better than any nonconference team on LSU schedule and after seeing Wisconsin, probably better than Bamas schedule as well.

This Kid Paxton is from a tiny Academy school in FL and was only a 2 star recruit. This Memphis coach must be a good judge of raw talent and knows how to coach them into a team that can beat up on a SEC school. Look out SEC East in he goes to Carolina.

I thought Memphis would fade down the stretch and Ole Miss would pull away late for a comfortable victory. Needless to say I am very glad I didn't put money on that prediction.

Their level of competition might be lower but Fuentes has Memphis humming along like a well oiled machine. As a result Ole Miss never really saw them coming, much like Arkansas did with Toledo. Mid-major teams with some legit talent and games where the SEC coaching staffs did not cover themselves in glory equals embarrassing losses.

Allen Iverson called in with the question: Memphis? Memphis? What are we talking about here? Memphis? Come on man, really, Memphis?
