Wiretaps made as part of the recent federal investigation into
vote-buying in the Alabama Legislature contain no conversations that
connect Victoryland owner Milton McGregor to quarterback Cam Newton's
recruitment to Auburn, according to multiple sources familiar with the
statehouse probe.

Riiiight.

All of a sudden we know what's in the wiretaps regarding MacGregor?

But, we still haven't heard if Cam Newton is eligible or not? Auburn is saying "no comment," but suddenly we're hearing whether or not MacGregor was taped talking about Newton?

Seriously, guys. Think. The media in Alabama is bought and paid for. "Multiple sources"? Really? Then get those multiple sources to tell us what's really going on and stop with the propaganda.

This story has been covered as poorly as any major story I've ever seen. But, suddenly they know what's on the wiretaps and whether MacGregor is involved. Remember, MacGregor was buying judges and politicians. I don't believe a word of this until I know WHO the sources are and what they tie-in is.

this gonna kill a lot of those retarded bama theories

The post up at the top of the rant page and some of the theories posted on here would make the NSA and CIA go "d@mn wished we'd thought of that".

I've said it all along MSU is the one that needs to be sweating not Auburn. MSU has, if reports are correct, 4 people directly involved in a pay for play with someone they continued recruiting even after finding this out. Auburn at worst may have to vacate wins, but that is doubtful as the NCAA indicated last thursday that Newton is still in the clear at Auburn.

When TMZ came out with their report, Auburn fans insisted there was no way anyone could know what was in FBI wiretap logs.

Now that there are sources that favor Auburn, Auburn fans now suddenly believe that someone knows what is in the wiretap logs.......ponderous.....

McGregor not tied to Cam via wiretaps...

Well, that shoots down 1 reason Cam could be ruled ineligible.

1 down, 25 more to go!

if true, doesnt that kinda blow up the whole "As The Plains Burn" thread?

The NCAA has given no indication, or statement concerning his eligibility. But nice repeating of the Au party line.

then you're a blind homer. Cecil was clearly trying to sell his son, too many ppl confirming that. Issue is and has been whether or not Cam is ruled ineligible and how that effects Auburn's run this yr

they continued recruiting even after finding this out.
they could just as easily continue to recruit him and not agree to pay. it's called recruiting for a reason

clearly delusional; NCAA hasn't indicated shite yet bc the investigation is on going.

To be fair, a large amount of the defense from Auburn fans has been the use of "sources." So, it's merely "sources" saying there is no link. Ha ha.

Fair enough...but that means we get to say "deny" and "deflect" to anyone questioning this.

Like McGregor would freaking know who Cam Newton was at Blinn College. This guy was just the money man. Who to buy, was someone else. Lotta news here!

A TMZ.com report Wednesday said FBI agents looking into Newton's
recruitment "are also asking about Milton McGregor." The Web site reported that agents asked "someone connected to the Newton case" if he knew McGregor

Thank you. That was my point.

Anyone who thinks that MacGregor/Lowder don't still have power in this state, they are crazy.

This could just as easily be a push back to get people to calm down.

No one knows for sure what's in the tapes. Or, if they do, then you have to take seriously those claiming that he IS implicated. Unnamed sources.

Wow.

First - Because his lawyer says he is not invovled with the Newton's we say ok?

Second - So he didn't talk about Newton on the wiretaps case closed. AU is off the hook?

Third - He didn't talk about paying Cam Newton on the wiretaps, doesn't say anything about other players.

Last - What does that matter. Cam is still ineligble.
