False? Not necessarily.

Is that a yes or no?
I've seen you do this before in a thread so don't be a hypocrite.

seen me do what? I answered your question, I also notice you didn't even acknowledge the second part where you were intentionally misleading.

It's a yes or no question.

Lot of games Murray showed up for and his defense flat out just sucked. For example in 2011 vs South Carolina, Murray throws close to 250 yards, 4 TDs, and only 1 INT, but they lose 45-42.

Their other big game vs South Carolina in 2012, the whole team got destroyed 35-7 in a hostile environment.

Murray didn't blow a lot of big games, it was more of a Richt issue than anything.

I would have taken Murray straight up in 2011. A year under his belt, he scrambled well, and the oline was still sick that year. Of course the defense the main reason Bama won it that year, but having a QB with a year under his belt would have been great. McCarron started to catch on right around when Brad Smedley became the big target.

It's a good discussion, though it's still hard to predict because Alabama runs a different system than Georgia, so we don't know if Murray would have been free to do similar stuff. McCarron in 2011 was much different in 2012, when he had a 30-3 TD-INT ratio.

UGA needed Murray to have big games to win and Bama needed McCarron to be a game manager. Murray is a pretty smart player and I think he could have settled in as a game manger if he needed.

That works both ways though. He played like arse against Florida in 2012 but the defense bailed him out.

Georgia beats Alabama in the 2012 SEC Championship

They go on to win the title vs Notre Dame

Mark Richt is still the head coach of Georgia

They probably would've found some way to lose to ND.

Murray/Gurley. They are better players on a worse team. Bama's OL and defense with Murray and Gurley would have gotten them into the national championship several times.

He was also incredible against Auburn in 2013; lead the team to a 21 point 4th quarter comeback but still lost because of a hail mary.

Cherrypicking bad games doesn't mean anything. Both QBs had great college careers, but they still had bad games from time to time.

Isn't the point of having good players to win championships?

That's the ultimate goal right? Win games, win titles?

It's not just a circle jerk talent exhibition, the point is to win.

I'll take the players who know how to win.

Exactly. McCarron was BCS title game MVP whereas Murray was...TaxSayler Bowl MVP.

But was that because Georgia's defense was that good, or because Florida's offense was that bad? Remember that was a Florida team that led by Will Muschamp and Jeff Driskel as the QB. Florida also had a good defense that year too, but was atrocious on offense. They got blown out vs Louisville in the Sugar Bowl.

A little bit of both. Jarvis Jones was a monster.

be honest hg...is it because you hate Alabama and that's making your answer biased? If not then disregard what I said and carry on.

If you want honesty, you'll just have to realize this question was never going to end well for Bama. There are people who honestly believe Murray/Gurley would be better. Then there are just as many, if not more, people who would not pass up a chance to annoy Bama fans by picking Murray/Gurley. This is the sort of post that shouldn't be made because everyone already knows how it will go.

I'd pick McCarronLacy myself. They won a national title. Not really much else to aspire toward with any QB/RB combo.

So then you would pick Trent Dilfer over Dan Marino since he won the Super Bowl and Marino did not.
