I wasnt aware of the family connections to UGa. Just thought it was curious that a league that slings it all over the place like the Big 12 wasn't able to land him.

Matt has said that he was kinda weirded out by mack brown because mack one time kept coaxing (almost forcing) stafford to touch the heisman trophy or something.

Tech and maybe OU were really the only teams throwing the ball a lot in the B12 back then and LOL at him going to Tech

He didn't end up at Arkansas because we already had the #1 qb that year that's all I remember.

That really stings coming from such an obviously erudite poster. I'm sure you would have taken it as an unalloyed compliment if I'd been discussing 1960 and said "Ole Miss was a good program at the time".

Probably because UGA is one of the coolest schools in the country with one of the biggest fan bases.

Mustain was the #2 QB behind Stafford on Rivals and ESPN. Tebow was #3

Can't have a Matt Stafford thread on the Rant without the obligatory flashback classic photo of his gayness days:
Do we need photos of his "Matt Stafford is Fat" days too?
LOL

I am sure that Stafford is using his spare $100 bills to wipe away the tears he is shedding due to internet taunting.

Based on the above picture, that's not tears he's wiping away....

Matt Stafford's recruitment
Watching the Lions made me wonder how he ended up at UGa. Obviously, UGa is/was a premier program at the time of his recruitment, but were there other factors at play (I.e. Were Texas and A&M in on other big time QBs? Or was he simply enamored with UGa?) Hard to believe a huge arm like that was allowed to escape Big12 country.
Obviously you never saw the keg parties that Matt attended? J/K that was more along Murrays favs. Dude had a strong arm. Of course UGA had him and Knowshon and the end zone celebration, and both had their poop smeared in 2008 when our year older defense made them pay dearly.
Don't think Richt has tried that stunt again.....Helen needs to think things out it seems.

That's the year we began training Agent Muschamp for his sabotage mission. Damned Good Dawg!

pretty sure I remember a girlfriend one year older already being at UGA in addition to everything already stated.
All I remember for sure was that he was locked in very early and there was really never any question he would be at UGA

Of course they were better in '06. Hoover lost 35-21 to Prattville that year. Before that though, Hoover was pretty fricking good. Especially in the early 2000s.
