Tharold Simon has to be the most overlooked player in the country. Mathieu and Claiborne get all the love but Simon is gonna be a 1st round pick in a '12 or '13.

(He'll likely go ahead of Mathieu.)

That said, a DBs stats are not always a reflection of his talent (talking Menzie here, not Mathieu). Some guys don't get thrown at much.

I can agree with that. I.e. Patrick Peterson.

Were they in some kind of contest we didn't know about?

I think it's lame how there hasn't been a Bama/LSU thread yet where at least 2 LSU posters didn't say, "honey badger, der take what he wants".

As frequently as they say it, it would be an absolute shame if, on November 5, he went out there and stunk the field up, generally having a bad day.

This x1000. Mathieu is incredible. He is a true talent. I love watching him play. That said, a DBs stats are not always a reflection of his talent (talking Menzie here, not Mathieu). Some guys don't get thrown at much.

This is true. Comparing the two is apples and oranges because of how they are used by their teams.

Menzie plays CB and is damn good at locking down his side.

Mathieu plays at crushing the hopes and dreams of his opponents and their families.

I agree. It's clear that teams don't want to test Menzie at all and completely avoid his side of the field.

The LSU fan asked for stats for DBs, I posted them. Rarely does anyone judge DB play based on stats.
