here's a story with Bobbie's Saban quotes:
LINK
quote:

"Bobby, do not even tell me where you are going, because if you are not going to Alabama I am turning you into the NCAA. You know you have a chance to start at Alabama at right tackle as a sophomore, and nobody would turn that down unless they did something illegal."

comments might make you rebels nervous though:
quote:

I will not hold my breath for your comments on the day when the facts come out about his recruitment and the "tire distributor" who was involved in his recruitment for Ole Miss...there was another recruit from Hargrave that also signed with OM...Hmmm...could said "tire distributor" be from his hometown? I am sure Saban did say those things but I am also sure it did not go exactly as Massie stated...I am sure he told him he knew what was going on illegally with the "millionaire" in MS but then went into his sales job talking about his program. Like I said, we will see who gets the last laugh in this situation. Enough people, including many who are with other schools other than Bama and OM, know what happened here and no, it is not because Massie did not go to Bama but just the facts on why he went to OM...replacing Oher got Massie's attention but tire profits clinched the deal

Damn it's a great time to be a college football fan in the South. Especially with Dr. Evil living and working just down I-20/59. Even though Nick closed out with one of the strongest signing days in the nation, apparently the world is not enough to satisfy the Prince of Darkness.

+1 for sure

i'll get to a breaking point (without a conference championsihp or national title) when we've got a for sure QB and still can't get it done. but if his second year is a 12-2, i'm not TOO worried about it getting done.

Rumor has it Saban called Nutt the night before NSD and told him he was going to turn him for violations regarding Massie for cheating. Nutt responded to Saban: "You know I don't cheat. If anyone should be getting turned it, it's you."

Either I am missing something or this thread is all a joke.....am I the only one (ironically) that think this may have been a tongue-in-cheek comment by Saban - assuming it is even true? I mean, I read it and can see it as a pretty clever way of Saban saying "Don't change your mind dude....come to Bama and start right away and be a rock star."

Sorry....I figured it was a joke.....I have been a little disengaged and had not heard this story though. Regardless, I think it would be a clever thing to say if it were true....and I hate Saban.

good point. perhaps bobby massie just wanted to throw dirt on Saban and company because he's a kid at the moment. perhaps saban said that in a joking manner. no one knows.... less people (including the media) care. it's not a story because it's not legit. it's not legit because it's just based on someone's word.

Cheers!

Yeah - there's really no way to know what was actually said. That was not a direct quote from either Saban or Massie - it was paraphrased on Ole Miss' Scout site last week from the recruiting mod who talked to Massie at spring practice.

Our mod posted it on our private recruiting board and some people copied it over (ineliashaitrust) to free boards and now it's all over blogs like it's a verbatim quote from Saban - which it's not.

It thinks it's clear there has been some contact between Saban and Massie/Nutt referring to violations, but that's a different story.

The whole Saban/Massie exchange was told through they eyes of a 19-year old to an Ole Miss board mod/homer, so you never know what the truth is.

Take it all with a huge grain of salt.

But to sign with Ole Miss? WTF?? Not saying he should have signed with Bama but damn, at least sign with a school that could have winning season. What a dumbass.
