I get Auburn fans want to have 1 mascot.

Personally I think every sport should have a different, unique mascot to piss the rest of the SEC off

Without such an educated populace, would Missouri be so populous?

That's a cool idea. UK has a version of that. Here's the nicknames for some of our teams:

Swimming team - Catfish

Baseball - Bat Cats

Wrestling (when we had a team; now the football team) - Mat Cats

Tennis - Net Cats

Let's do one for all then,...

Alabama Elephants
Arkansas Cardinals
Auburn War Eagles
Florida Retirees
Georgia Peaches
Kentucky Bluegrass
Mississippi St Cowbells
Missouri Mules
Ole Miss Bears
South Carolina ****s (just remove the "game")
Tennessee Appleseeds
Texas A&M Sargents
Vanderbilt Musicians

Silly article, but you have to fill that area between the ads with something.

Aren't the LSU Tigers and Missouri Tigers based on Civil War units? Why do Auburn and Clemson call themselves tigers, and what was ever wrong with War Eagles?

Which came first, Georgia Bulldogs or Yale Bulldogs? Maroons was a fine nickname; can't see why they'd want to join the bulldogs club.

I'd rather go back to the Flood than continue with Black Bears.

Okay, that was one old man's rant for Friday evening. Everybody have a good weekend.

What on Earth is our connection to Apples? Is it those support k-12 education license plates or something?
And Vanderbilt musicians? If you're going to reference Nashville then they should be the Producers. East and West Tn are where the musicians come from.

So what does crimson tide and an elephant saying roll tide have in common? I need to know the story behind this.

LSU Malaria

Missouri Herpes
