I easily could see that. I know more than BCS is involved but can't remember every thing else about it from when it was a possibility in '11. Bama will have the higher BCS ranking, but if they are far enough ahead I don't know.

I think the week 3 game will be the game to determine the sec west...whoever wins that game is in the driver seat till they get to LSU...and I don't care what the rant says LSU you can beat anybody in the nation easily including Bama and aTm

just wanted to clarify, im not saying those two teams are better than LSU but there schedules are and it sets up nicely for both until we get to LSU

The loser of week 3 could almost have the advantage, if there is a 3 way 1 loss tie. The other 2 teams would of lost much much later in the season.

I just laugh about it, and joke about how we're lucky to not play Tulane, cuz they would beat us by 40 this year.
Also I'm sure most of the ones that say it are just flamming and don't really believe it.

Not if it's A&M that loses, IMO. Bama will get the benefit of the doubt if they crush their competition the rest of the season after a loss at A&M. Aggies would be left trying to prove themselves against anemic competition without the benefit of the doubt, and even though in this scenario they'd beat LSU, they'd have to absolutely pound the Tigers in DV to even be in consideration, and that ain't happening even in the best scenario.

Bama can afford a mulligan, but not TAMU.

I hate to say it but you may be right...bama loses to aTm and then aTm loses to LSU in the middle of the season then the advantage would be to bama playing LSU at the end of the season...with it being so close to the end of the season a win at LSU could go a long way...but those first bcs rankings will play a huge role in how much a late season win over LSU would be

I was thinking in terms of making it to Atlanta, but I do agree Bama has the better chance of overcoming the loss than y'all. In the college sports, the name of your team sometimes is as important as your resume.

See:

Michigan

Texas

Notre Dame

USC

To name a few.

Like you alluded to earlier, it's gonna be a mess either way. If Bama, LSU, and A&M battle for West supremacy as expected, it will not be easy to determine who goes to ATL.

assuming LSU drops a game to UGA or Florida it will be pretty simple... if they don't LSU should have the advantage based on SOS (maybe I'm just kidding myself, voters will probably still put Bama #1 of the three independent of any results)

My favorite non-sec game since Stanford started becoming relevant.

I'm so glad that A&M and Bama play each other early this year. I can't wait for the meltdown from the losing team. I don't even care who loses. Either result will be beautiful. I really hate both fan bases now.

Oregon vs Tennessee Sept 14

That game should be note worthy! We are looking forward to hosting the Big Guys from the SEC! I am sure they want revenge.

I think that game in Dallas was a one off, and there won't be a return game. Sorry.
