I assure you the A&M posters on this thread explaining the situation are not college students and most definately know what they are talking about.....

However, how can any person no matter their education, experience and technical knowledge hope to compete with the awe inspirig wisdom of.....ahhh that's douche, what a douche I hate him.

One day when I grow up I hope I can spout wisdom like that!

1. Get a catchy phrase.

2. Trademark it.

Check, check and check.

Cease and desist letters seem to have worked to keep players eligible, even with those who have not cooperated.

Not that I'm aware of. And since the Hook'em thing I withdraw the offer of my daughter in marriage. I'm not sure what this is about. He's still on my shite list over the Hook'em thing. If you really think this episode says something bad about him then you're skimming over the important stuff.

He can certainly go after every single person making money off his name kinda like Metallica did on Napster. Yet that ended horribly for Metallica even though they "won" legally. You sure as hell don't go suing people for these issues and if you do you've clearly never been in a lawsuit before.

I think there are two issues here, one completely on the up-and-up and the other where, up to a point, I can understand others getting worked up over.

1) A&M and/or the Manziel family must go after Eric whatshisname and any similar businesses or risk JFF's eligibility. I don't pretend to understand the NCAA's stance on this, but LSU obviously agreed with this: LINK

2) Preserving the "Johnny Football" trademark. On the surface this seems to be a money-grubbing effort by the Manziel family, but I fail to see why they should allow some charlatan to make money off the name when they cannot.

For both cases, I don't see what other recourse A&M/Manziel family had if the dingbat wouldn't respond to a threatening letter.

I'm not sure I understand your point re: Metallica. I sell software I write. Fighting illegal copies is a constant battle that I'm sure I'm losing, but still feel obligated to pursue simply because it's the right thing to do. How can I expect honest customers to pay for my stuff when others get it for free?

I think student sections in the SEC West should have a field day with this in the upcoming season when the Faggies come to town.

JM and his family probably formed this corporation to protect Johnny and Texas A&M from NCAA violations. It is most certain the NCAA will be looking if not already into JM exploits.

I for one think JM is doing nothing wrong and has every right to enjoy his success and new fame. I see nothing wrong with forming a for profit corporation to make money. For many of you young, commie infested, brained washed children, profit is what is paying for your education.

I say f__k the NCAA and if JM and his family can make a legal buck off his fame, by all means do it!

Times are changing and not soon enough. A&M has made millions in free advertising exposure, ticket sales, tv dollars, etc due to JM. Who among us are such hypocrites that we could begrudge him or his family from protecting their rights.

Lay off JM Ranters! He is making all of us in the SEC more money. Lets hope for his continued success on and off the field.

PS: Except September 14th
