This smells very "sip-like". They got almost completely outmaneuvered by Sumlin allowing Manziel to talk to the media.

C.J. Mosley 92 tackles, 56 solo, 36 assisted, 4 sacks, 2 INTs, 2 PD
Manit Te'o 101, tackles, 46 solo, 55 assisted, 1.5 sacks, 7 INTs, 4 PD

So the INTs make him a Heisman candidate?

What's more damning is that, as a linebacker, Te'O only has 5.5 total TFL.

No playing for ND is all that makes him a Heisman candidate

Alabama had an entire LB corps better than him in 2011 and not one of them had Heisman consideration on the way to a national title. If people bitch about the media coverage Alabama gets, they are not going to like what Notre Dame is going to get in the coming years.

Teo should win it. He is the most complete player in college football . . . In my opinion.

Obviously as evidenced by his zero career touchdowns.

The meltdown on TA if JFF loses will be truly amazing. It will be a nice consolation prize if he somehow doesn't win

I guarantee you Jarvis Jones and Matt Elam have made more big plays this year than Manti has had in three years. A frucking Frock of Frap.

Manziel deserves the Heisman in my eyes...Id given to him three or four games ago. A special talent....best player in the country imho.

Fact 1: Notre Dame has one defensive touchdown as a team; none since the Navy game.

Fact 2: Manti Te'O has zero career touchdowns.

Fact 3: Every defensive Heisman finalist prior to this year has had at least one career touchdown.

Charles Woodson: 4 total touchdowns his Heisman year (1 PR, 2 receptions, 1 rush), 6 career touchdowns.

Ndamakong Suh: 3 career touchdowns (2 interception return, 1 reception)

Tyrann Mathieu: 4 total touchdowns last year (2 PR, 2 fumble recovery)

In fact, Te'O is the first finalist in the history of the Heisman Trophy not to score a single point over the course of his career.

So the people bitching about him aren't butthurt?

Dude is an animal. If either he or Manziel wins it, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised.

Manziel has one more forced fumble than Te'o

just for fun, here's a comparison of one of Texas A&M's best linebackers against Te'o.

Dat Nguyen' stats: (beat #1 Kansas State and #2 Nebraska in 1998).

147 tackles
20 tackles for loss
4 sacks
4 forced fumbles
4 INTs
1 TD

Teo's stats: (Highest ranked team beat: #8 Oklahoma in 2012)

103 tackles
5.5 tackles for loss
2 sacks
0 forced fumbles
7 INTs
0 TDs

Just looked up his season stats...101 tackles in 12 games...single game high in solo tackles is 8.
Most games its 3-5 solo mostly assists. also hasnt had double digit tackles the last 5 games. 1.5 sacks on the season. yeah, i know hes got 7 ints...so what? I dont want my ILB with 7 ints, a bunch of assists and barely any tackles for loss. someone please tell me what the hell is so special about this guy other than the media bias that comes with his uniform?
