Lassiter High School in Marietta GA has named its football field in honor of Philip Lutzenkirchen.

Great news. I wonder if they're still gonna call the stadium The Frank and just name the field after him.

It should be named after Dusty Rhodes instead.

This, I was starting to see more Lutzy photos and stuff popping up and was thinking no way it has been a year already. RIP Lutz

Nice gesture. Hate that he died the way he did (hate that he died at all) but he clearly had a huge impact on those who knew him and watched him play

He was an absolutely amazing player.

Still owns one of the greatest grabs I'm every seen in the game against Ole Miss (I believe).

It is. He was one of my favorite non-LSU players.

That's a nice tribute. Lassiter has first class facilities there. I'm in that stadium a couple of times a year for T&F.

It is so hard to see anyone go, especially an athlete who is well liked in the community. Dude sealed the deal in the Camback.

Lassiter beat us in football my freshman year. That was our only loss and kept us out of the playoffs because of losing to Marietta in a play-in game. We didn't win a single game the rest of my time in high school.
