We're sunk. We'd better find another walk-on qb FAST.

Not really opening a spot for Coker, other than the depth chart. Del Rio was a walk-on and wasn't on scholarship. He would only have taken up a spot on the 85 man roster if he had played prior to his redshirt sophomore year. That being said, he was the third QB on the depth chart by the Texas A&M game. He was the only true freshman to travel.

pretty telling, imo... that he traveled over another true frosh QB.

scared of comp?

Not at all considering he whooped the rest of the competition's arse after coming in as a Walk-On

Not sure what that says about Bama's depth at QB though

He is the son of Jack Del Rio and we just hired Lane Kiffin, likely had a lot more to do with it

He doesn't have all of the physical tools as others on the depth chart, or those set to arrive, but he is a very bright QB. He's a lot like Greg McElroy.

Cromwell seems to be getting a lot of love. I thought Coker is pretty much just rumor (though I guess being 2nd string for two more years isn't something to look forward to).

It is a rumor but based on the people I have heard from I think it is probably going to happen. Just nothing official yet.

Well he has a much better chance of playing at UA than competing with Winston.

I'd heard a few bammers say they thought he had a legit chance of starting. Why would he leave?

It was a couple months ago and before the NCG he of course denied it

The article that came out on him basically not being tabbed as starter because Winston being named kept the team together kind of broke it the news wide open

Now it is being reported pretty much universally that he's coming to Bama

So he won't enroll until the fall?

If the Coker rumors are true, then he probably isn't going to be the starter.

dude tore his acl... it would either have to be super sh*tty competition for him to win the job, or he's the next peyton manning... I can't imagine a true frosh coming in off major knee sugery winning a job like that.

He did have a good shot by all accounts.

Again transferring because he is the son of Jack Del Rio who is a famous USCw LB and still pretty involved as a Trojan alum. Coming out of HS Kiffin didn't recruit or offer Del Rio while other Pac12 teams did

That is why he is transferring

Yeah, Lane told Tahj Boyd to kick rocks when he got to Tenn. That worked out well.

Gotcha.

The QB situations at all of the big boy SEC schools will be interesting as hell to watch that's for sure.
