I don't know about that, although it's a bit strange that they've only won 1 national title.

Strange that our fans are crazy about our team and have high hopes even though we haven't won a title in over 70 years? I though that was what it was all about...not jumping off the bandwagon just bc your team isn't dominating.

College Station is proud of their hotels that weekend. Their frickin insane.
Two night minimum and double the normal rate--par for the course for Byan/College Station hotels for as long as I can remember. And it's not really due to a shortage of hotels--probably double the number of rooms now as compared to 10 years ago.

Well since football is king, I suggest you look up to your betters in this conference, specifically:

Teams that have won a national title since aTm: Bama, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas, Georgia, Ole Miss, Kentucky

I love reading the posts of opposing fan bases attempting to admonish A&M or to "put us in our place"

Pump the brakes there, chief. Because this is what happens to every ag that talks shite:

Like I said, as long as the scope is limited to that, then you're right. And please, no reasonable Ag is thinking we're going to blaze a trail this fall. We're quite aware of our on field futility over the last decade.

But of course you must realize it's difficult, even with the one blowout loss to Arky in '09, to sit back and pretend that beating you on a perenial basis is some kind of tall order. Easily could have been done in '10 and obviously should have been done in '11.

Your players are not superior, your coach hs been. We will continue to outrecruit you -- as we almost always do -- and the law of averages will eventually set the order as it should be. And please, I know the all-tine record. But the past doesn't equate to the future and from an objective standpoint, our resources, size, and location simply trump yours.

But I will be forced to concede until the potential becomes actual. I still believe it's imminent.

Because recruits are always online googling endowment, enrollment figures, and number of women's basketball titles to make their decisions

I believe aTm was also one of the biggest and richest schools in the Big 12...it didn't mean very much there and will mean even less in the SEC.

Oh, and what does that mean on the field, exactly?

you're in Texas, we're in Arkansas, of course you will usually "outrecruit" us. are you seriously bragging about this?

a lot of people "outrecruit" us, yet only 4 teams managed to finish ahead of us in the rankings this year.

Hence the law of averages I mentioned. As we all know, recruiting is the lifeline. A program can only continue to bring in superior talent year after year for so long before another missing element (in our case coaching) finally pieces everything together.

Coaching has been our issue. It's been that way since Slocum. We've done some whiffing on that front. I'd like to think we could only whiff for so long before we finally find the right man. If that right man is Sumlin, then yes, our recruiting advantages will finally materialize into on field results.

and everyone knows that coaching is the #1 success factor in college football. it's no surprise that your issue and on field performance mirror one another.

recruiting is important but so is player development. Petrino has proven he can take lower rated recruits and make them into damn good football players. that's the sign of a great coach.

Just as a matter of basic logic, I suggest that every single SEC fan base -- outside of Vandy -- carefully tailor the insults targeted toward CS as we are literally the biggest, smartest (outside of Vandy), and richest in this conference

give me a break. as a matter of basic logic, i think you are an a-hole. but, of course since you say so, you are smarter and richer than me.
