Former LSU wide receiver Nemessis "Nemo" Bates was sentenced to life in prison for his part in a 2010 murder-for-hire killing.

According to The Advocate, Bates ordered a $20,000 hit on a friend whom he believed stole money and jewelry from him. Christopher “Tiger” Smith was shot more than 20 times at his doorway in Terrytown, La.

Yes, we all see the correlation, but you need to do some soul searching here.

You mean how he treats his nemesis? #badumtish

Last I heard of Nemo, his car wash in NOLA got held up at gunpoint. Probably 4 years ago or so

The difference is LSU actually removed him from the team and he finished his career at Southern U

I'm sorry, this is all tragic and everything, but how in hell did I miss that awesome name, misspelled though it might be. I'm all for parents naming their kids with an eye to the effect the name will have later in life, but I'd be tempted to name my kid "Nemesis." Of course, it's a girl's name, mythologically-speaking, but I can't fault the parents for giving it to a son.

Dinardo wasn't exactly known for recruiting well disciplined players.

He was a DiNardo recruit? That would explain it. I think it is more accurate to say he wasn't great at instilling discipline. At Vandy, that wasn't much of an issue. We didn't bring in a lot of top-of-the-line players with egos to match. Once he got to LSU, he had a candy jar and no impulse control. A better coach, like Urban, can make that work. DiNardo wasn't a better coach.
