yeah this is more in line with what I had in mind, looks-wise. I'm not big on watches with a thick or bulky face.

I can't help. Thin fashion watches are outside of my wheelhouse.

why?

You already know that I have only bought one watch in my life, so I'm clearly not an aficionado. I'm sure there are things I enjoy that you don't that would make me cringe, but that's no reason to think less of you for it.

I just don't see watches like the average Joe does. If I were to describe one I would use "all silver" "somewhat dressy/casual that I wear daily.+under $100" "brown leather band and preferably a light face".

To me anything around $100 is all the same. Its cheap quartz or ultra mass produced basic of the basic mechanical. It probably keeps great time. And if that is all you're looking for, that's fine

I'm assuming you meant you would not describe it that way? I mean I'm not trying to be a watch expert, sorry I don't know the lingo.

Watches aren't important enough to me to spend several hundred bucks on one. I want one that looks nice and tells me the time. Taht's it. My current watch was like $120 or something and I love it, it's perfect for me. I'd like to get another one in the same price range. You're right, that's all I'm looking for.

We probably have a different definition of "good stuff". And thats okay.

What do you think of the new (ish) in house stuff? I haven't paid enough attention since ETA started taking their ball and going home. Ultimately it'll make them a better company.

I like Victronix for everyday wear and I have an older officer's model automatic that I wear for dressy occasions

I am a bit of a Speedy lover. Other than that... Omega doesn't do it for me.

I really wanted to pick up an Apollo-Soyuz (Meteorite) last weekend. I had no idea people still had them new, but the galleria in Dallas did. They only made a few hundred pieces.

It pissed me off initially because I knew what the swatch group was doing. Ultimately I think it makes the watch industry better (and ultimately more expensive). Any in-house movement is going to be better if the time and effort is put into it.

And my definition of the good stuff is subjective. These are the brands I enjoy. Not necessarily what I own:

Breitling
Patek
Glashutte
Breguet
Omega
Baume
and a few others
