LSU fans were fully warned about it from Tennessee fans. However, as bad as Malveto was, it really didn't start to sink in until the last 3 years.

Look, I'm thankful for what the guy did for LSU and I don't begrudge him for doing his money grab to Aggyville (his bitch moves the last few months notwithstanding) but let's be honest, the freak athletes your top tier SEC schools have on defense can make it pretty easy to be a an "elite" DC in this league. He'll improve A&M's defense no doubt, but there will be a day in the future when they too will bemoan his shortcomings -- even though they are seemingly few, they are glaring and rear their ugly heads at the least opportune times.

As others have said, his problem wasn't so much giving up long third down conversions as it was going into a conservative defense and not being able to stop the 2 min offense.

Yep, lucky y'all go rid if him. Damn shame when you can't win all your games when your offense sucks.

Actually, last year's Alabama game is really the only time LSU lost because the defense folded at the last minute AND the offense was putrid. All of 2013 losses seemed like shootouts.

Chavis is a good hire, but there is a reason his reputation has followed him from Knoxville, to Baton Rouge, and now College Station.

it was called the "Mustang" defense, it's a prevent defense that prevented us from winning.

With his history of late game collapses at UT and LSU, the Aggie fan base will not be patient if it shows itself early.

2008 UCLA game was a painful example.

2001 UGA which was mentioned.

2006 LSU.

Biggest issue at LSU was the 2-min drill.

And scrambling QBs not named Johnny Manziel.

I dont blame him for the fourth and 17 vs Clemson. We put Eric Reid(first round draft pick) on their best wr. It was a perfect throw and catch.
