Drac, i'm just curious how serious y'all are about this. A part of me wants Tennessee to beat Bama next season so y'all will calm the frick down about this. I DO NOT want LSU to leave our conference. I'm just wondering if y'all are that serious.

There is definitely a portion of the fan base that is extremely upset and yes they are serious.

IMO that's a minority though and no I'm not one of those people nor is anyone in the administration.

***1st off, I don't think this would ever happen, and I don't think LSU should leave...

...but....

if the Big XII grabbed FSU along with LSU, or the ACC invited LSU, and the $$$ was equivalent or more, I'd say go for it!

I like playing Alabama, Auburn, Arky, Ole Miss and Florida, and I like playing for the SEC Championship, but I wouldn't have a problem with a conference slate of the following:

LSU in the Big XII:

FSU
Texas
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
West Virginia

LSU in the ACC:
FSU
Miami
Georgia Tech
Clemson
Louisville

Sorry, but I don't think LSU has much tradition with Kentucky, South Carolina or Mizzou...we wouldn't miss those games

Frankly, if LSU did leave, it might make other SEC teams reconsider their position....Florida, Texas A&M, Vandy, and Missouri are all AAU institutions and the B1G would salivate to get them....

Alabama and Georgia are great historical programs, but actually aren't that welcome in terms of research or markets...Georgia technically adds Atlanta, but seems like GIT would be a bigger grab to the B1G

why is that GIT is AAU and Georgia is not?????

guess who the first school not from the North to win a national championship was?

after that everyone jumped on our coattails and wanted to start a major conference with LSU.

don't deny the facts. you'll regret it.

Yeah, all those Cap One bowl losses really help the SEC. Plus, it's slowly approaching a decade since LSU won a NC

well, just won the SEC 2 years ago and played in a BCS championship

Bama's strength of schedule would plummet without LSU on it. They would have nothing but cupcakes on the schedule

You're freaking delusional. You think Bama gets favorable treatment but you look forward to playing in the Big Bevo? Tejas is Bama on steroids when it comes to their way or the highway.

Arkansas is mad as hell too about losing 2 years in Jerryworld with A&M, losing LSU to A&M on Thanksgiving weekend (well, before LSU was leaving for the Big 12 that is), and A&M stealing USC from them in exchange for Mizzou.

Possible new Big 12 Divisions:
Big 12 East-
1. LSU
2. Arkansas
3. West Virginia
4. Kansas
5. Kansas State
6. Iowa State

Big 12 West-
1. UTex
2. OU
3. OSU
4. TT
5. TCU
6. Baylor

To try and give a civil answer to this question - I would completely hate it if LSU left the SEC. Charter member - some many long standing traditions, best conf in the nation, best programs in the nation - hell no - would not be in favor of leaving.

I would be in favor of making things difficult until LSU could swing a little muscle to get some support.

Anyone can claim scared or whatever they want - but can anyone honestly disagree that having Florida as oermanent cross rival is not a disadvanatge? Florida is a top tier SEC program. ANd will continue to be a top tier program. And if for some reason they have a shitty string of 2 or 3 years - guess what - they have the $$ to change courses and change them rather quickly. So - yes LSU playing FLA year in and year out is to a disadvantage. However - you cannot name the disadvantage without the advantage. If LSU is in contention for a NC berth, and LSU has beaten a strong FLA team - then that of course boades well for the quality win category.

I do like the SEC rivalries - Bama and UT, oldest rivalry in the south and so forth - but the SEC has to make a choice - it will not be able to survive both ways.

LSU - Iowa State on an annual basis would make the move worth it

I love playing Florida every year. Great game and decent rivalry. I just want to see Bama have to play teams of the same caliber. IF you want to be the best than quit being afraid to play the best.
