Let's be honest.
If we counted the clean years of Bama's 'storied' program, you'd have about ...what? a decade or so worth of football over the last century

Well let's see, a century being 100 years that'd put us back to 1911.

1910-1920 hmm, no probations
1920-1930 nope, none here
1930-1940 nada
1940-1950 well there was that whole War thing that cramped our style on the cheating we were supposed to be doing
1950-1960 We stunk, and none
1960-1970 Lots of championships, not a lot of NCAA activity...as in none.
1970-1980 more championships, still missing out on cheating.
1980-1990 drat, Perkins and Curry. We should have hired Dye and gotten an early start on the probations

So that's 8 decades of clean years. You're about 7 decades short of your estimate there sport.

Math not your strong suit?

Whats the Bama/LSU record since 83? you could be right

Over the last 30 years, LSU owns a 15-14-1 advantage vs Alabama. About to be 16-14-1.

The 93 season was wiped out because Antonio Langham signed a contract on a napkin with an agent at a bar after winning the NCG. He then denied having any contact with the agent, and played the '93 season

quote:

The N.C.A.A. Committee on Infractions cited three principal violations:

*Contrary to N.C.A.A. rules, an Alabama player accepted six loans from boosters in 1989 and 1990. The loans, totaling $24,400, were never repaid.

*Another player was allowed to play in 11 regular-season games in 1993 although he had signed with an agent. The N.C.A.A. said Alabama officials did not pursue the matter diligently and did not notify the N.C.A.A. until almost 11 months after the signing.

*The university's faculty athletics representative gave the N.C.A.A. "false and misleading information."

I suggest you contact (or sue) the New York Times and request they update their information to reflect the truth as you now currently see it.

93 wasn't for Gene Jelks. it was for Langham playing. Reading comprehension is your friend. Other parts of the penalties were for Jelks.

Although Alabama has been a perennial football powerhouse, with six national championships between 1961 and 1992, these are the first sanctions against the university in any sport. In 1974, the football program was reprimanded for illegal recruiting contacts by Paul (Bear) Bryant, the legendary coach, but no probation or other sanctions were involved.

let's just say those sanctions in the early 90's were harsh for a first timer!!!!

If you are going back to the 70's and 80's, you might as well include LSU...

Well when we were put on probation for violations, oddly enough we weren't that good. So didn't really help there did it sport?

So we're y'all good in the years leading up to the probation or not? Was Jelks on a SEC champ team, was he The only player in that era to be "bought and sold" (his words, not mine)

I am starting to believe y'all really don't believe what we all believe!!!

If you're Alabama, you don't want to play this game with LSU. We have less years of probation all time than any one of Alabama's five penalties. And LSU has never had to forfeit or vacate wins.

Put that in your corn cob pipe and smoke it.

It would be fewer years, not less years. Alabama is fine playing LSU. They've done it before, and they'll do it again. No one ever said LSU wasn't better at cheating without getting caught. For that, you guys get props.

No... you are just claiming that the state built on the legacy of Huey P. Long is somehow free of corruption and cheating in its college athletics, all while trying to undermine the legacy of a man who is considered by most people to be one of, if not the greatest college coaches of all time...

Cholly Mac and Bear Bryant were good friends. Deal with it.

We got two years of probation total and time for a cheeseburger and a rent discount for players who never did squat on the field for LSU.

So to sum up, two penalties for LSU, two years probation. That's chump change at Alabama. How many penalties for Alabama? So how many games have the Tide have to forfeit? Vacate? How many years of probation are you up to.

Your best bet is to quit now. This isn't a fight you have a prayer of winning.

Best reply I've seen about this. Never seen a truer statement in terms of sports. This isn't the Nov. 5th game.

Game starts 0-0 anything can happen. Both teams are great teams.
