LSU has two maybe three wins over Bama during his time with Miles if not for him.

They already have 2 wins over Alabama during his tenure (2010, 2011), and the defense played well enough for LSU to win in 2009, 2012, 2014 and on 1/9/12. Before someone points out 2013, what happened to the LSU offense in the second half of that game? They tied the game then left their defense out to dry.

They'll be like Arkansas this year. Finish last in the West but be competitive

If we make the right hire we will be fine.

I'm just worried about recruiting mostly.

If we get someone who can improve third down defense, defense in late game situations, and come up with some blitz packages for the athletes we have spread out all over the defense I will be happy.

LSU would not have won the division even if they had beaten Alabama this season. For your argument's sake, let's assume that LSU defeats Alabama to win the West in 2012. Did LSU have the offense to defeat Georgia in the SEC Championship?

3rd down defense and defense in late game situations hurt LSU in 2013, but LSU's offensive incompetence would prevent them from winning a national championship, and that's what the fans want right?

So that means my point was wrong?

We can go off hypotheticals if you want, if my aunt had balls she would be my uncle.

There is a reason the phrase 3rd and Chavis is a common expression among fans and foes.

Blame the offense all you want, and it is bad, but if he is that good of a coordinator he would not blow games as much as he has.

Personally, I've always thought Chavis was a good DC until it came to scheme and developing talent.

Hmmm. Recall beating an SEC team this year fitting that description.

I agree, they will be and I think they will improve next year and be contending for a spot in the playoffs in 2-3 years. They're young, rich in talent and they will keep bringing them in. Chavis is a damn good DC but imo his best days are behind him. I think he'll improve the TAMU defense but that really isn't saying a whole lot
