I am thinking why hire a guy with no ties to the South and no experience recruiting the area much less playing in the SEC.

A coach who has built his rep by having the best defense in the worst offensive division in college football beating up on Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Purdue every year.

Impressive hire by LSU. Definitely an upgrade from Steele.

I wonder if Gus even considered asking Aranda if he was interested in going to Auburn. If not, they settled for far worse with Steele.

I'm thinking why hire a guy that had trouble devising game plans & calling plays for a Saban led defense, and had to be replaced as play caller after only one year. I mean, I thought a defensive coordinator's primary purpose was coaching the defense.
