In response to the op. I did not got to LSU neither did my Dad. He is the reason I am an LSU fan and have been all my life since I started going to baseball games as a very young kid. Both of us are more loyal than a lot of people I know that did graduate from LSU. You don't have to go to the school to be a fan. I am from the Baton Rouge area and understand that the athletic department helps the community in many ways other than providing an education.

This is always such a stupid argument.
Hell, I knew tons of people at Alabama that graduated with MBA's that never once attended a football game but I guess they are bigger fans or have a right to be? Who cares if you graduated or not. It's actually about state pride, not being an alum.
How many Notre Dame fans around the world graduated from there?
ANY, I mean ANY sidewalk fan talk begins and ends with the Irish.

From Baton Rouge, grew up basically on campus (few miles from frat row), and my mom teaches there.
I had to get away and Oxford is incredible. I drove home for all the big games and hosted LSU tents in the grove when it was in Oxford.
I have a friend at Alabama who is an LSU fan. He is pretty miserable come football season but the greek life is worth it.
