I never would think to say that before now. LSU puts up points like Arky/TAMU and plays just as much shitty D. LSU has given up 26 to MSU. A team that okie lite held to 3. 27 to tcu who barely scored on OU. 17 TO UA frickING B. UAB. 44 to UGA. The same UGA team that needed OT to beat UT who only gave up 34. Its sad that a storied program like LSU would stoop to copy TAMU/ARKY just to look flashy rather than do what won titles. Which the teams you copied dont have.
Why do you have such a hard on for LSU? At least one thread a day is started by you, trolling LSU. You are such a sad sack that you even have an LSU moniker on your screen name. Why are you obsessed?

The Tigers were gonna focus on being a defensive- minded team like Florida, but then they saw Florida in the Sugar Bowl and decided to take a different route.

This needs to be discussed, and while some of your points are valid, I disagree a little bit, and here's why.
I always looked at these super prolific offenses as gimmicks. More so aTm than Arky (in the Petrino days), but teams like aTm/Oregon/whomever that run these "gimmick" offenses seem to fold/fade when they play defenses littered with defensive athletes as good as their respective offensive athletes. See aTM last year vs LSU, and Florida. See Oregon vs. LSU, circa 2011, Oregon vs. Auburn in their championship year, etc. It's a pretty consistent pattern. Gimmick offense known for laying half a hunnerd on everyone they play comes up against good defense, said offense can't do what they've done the whole year.
IMO, the difference is that LSU's offense is not gimmicky. It's a pro style offense that just executes extremely well. I see that as a much different animal than a Manziel offense, or an Oregon offense/whomever.
All that said, here's the one thing that baffles me. It seems to NEVER fail that a team with a super prolific offense - no matter HOW they get there, be it gimmicks or a well oiled pro style offense, cannot field a good defense. This phenomenon is seen OVER and OVER and OVER.
It's pretty much the whole MO of the Big 12 recently, and I cannot figure out why. Had LSU not had the mass exodus on defense, I think you'd have seen the most special team in the history of college football. But alas, we'll never see it.
Explain to me though, your thoughts on why it is that you never see a team with a high powered offense play defense just as well. It could be as simple as the coaches put the best athletes on offense, ie, a guy that CAN be a DB winds up playing receiver. Or maybe practice is more geared towards offense. I don't know, but this situation has baffled me forever.
Would love to hear y'alls thoughts on this.

The only differences between this years' O and last year. is the OL blocking well, Mett throwing better and the receivers not dropping the ball. In other words, the scheme is the same, the execution is much better. The other big difference in the team is that a bunch of guys left early, half of whom I think is starting in the NFL, so the D isn't as good.

The A&M/LSU winner will be the team that has the ball last.

Our O-line has given up 7 sacks in the last two weeks. They've been up and down. Mett's not exactly mobile either...
I agree that Mett is definitely throwing better and our receivers are cathing better. But our pass routes are very different. Last year all of our receivers were right next to each other about five yards down the field. We threw five-and-outs to the sidelines that couldn't be advanced. It was extremely conservative. The Bama game was one of the only games where it looked different than that. This year it's wide open and after the catch it's an adventure. It's not gimmicky at all though.

I'll admit I haven't watched one of their games in its entirety.

This is the dumb bastard from Saints Talk that popped the champagne bottles a little too early in the buccaneers game.
