I'm not saying this will equal instant success, but the formula does seem to be yielding results, earlier than expected.

We currently have (4) assistants in the football payroll that were head coaches in either the NFL or NCAA FBS: Cam Cameron, Kevin Steele, Ed Ogeron, and Steve Kragthorpe.

Is this the best situation? A control freak like Nick Saban would say no. He has one person on his payroll of that stature, who has no choice but to be a boot-licker, and is despised by seemingly every college fan base, including his own.

Maybe Les understands/acknowledges that he can no longer match wits or beat Nick Saban on his own. Good for him. I love him even more for such a display of humility

Which has had the biggest fall from grace?

I would hardly called being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease as 'suffering a fall from grace'.

1-15 in the NFL, WVU just scored again, wasn't good enough to replace Kiffin, lost to 37-point underdog Syracuse as Louisville HC.

We are doomed, right?

???

Lane Kiffin (Oakland Raiders, Tennessee, USC)
Mario Cristobal (Florida International)
Bobby Williams (Michigan State)
Mel Tucker (Jacksonville Jaguars)*

*Mel Tucker was only the interim HC for a few games.

He has Lane Kiffin as his OC. You are aware of that right?

ETA: Never mind. I see you mentioned Lane though not by name. This thread is still terrible though. I couldn't care less if an assistant has been a head coach. Do they recruit well? Do they coach up the talent we have? Do they help us win more games? Do they help us minimize mistakes?

This thread could've been done without the Bamasession.

Probably. But I esteem Alabama and their program as a standard of excellence. Why not compare to the best?

You prefer I use Vanderbilt as the object lesson next time?

And what exactly was Sabans record in the nfl? Some talents are better at different coaching positions.

You are right we have four... Kragthorpe is not a coach anymore - works in football operations. Peveto was HC of Northwestern State for 4 yrs. So five is you count all the staff.
