Hill and Yeldon are clearly on the same level talent-wise. Yeldon might be faster. But Hill can run you over too. 2 different backs but equally as talented. Only difference is it took Lester a while to start giving Hill the ball whereas Yeldon got PT early on.

I agree. I also think that Yeldon may be a product of his offensive line, where Hill had to overcome LSU's battered and generally beaten offensive line. I think that Hill is a better back, but Yeldon is more effective. Also, if Hill was given more carries and allowed to get in rhythm, I think he could be one of the three best backs in the SEC.

The problem for LSU is that a lot of the other teams in the conference and in the division are getting better. Its already the toughest division in football. Now Texas A&M has become a real power, Ole Miss is a far cry from the easy-win that they were just a few years ago, and Bama is Bama. I dont think anyone is predicting a historic Auburn-like collapse for LSU. But its not gonna be an easy road next year. The leadership in the locker room has been gutted and they are still left with Les Miles philosophy of play great defense and boneheaded offense. They lost the most of their defensive playmakers to the draft. Its gonna be hard to develop those new guys into the kind of unit that can be counted on to win close games if the offense doesnt improve. Its possible that the Tiger offense could be a lot better next season. Mettenberger is still a bit of a wildcard. He has the arm talent to be a better QB than he was last year, but there is still a lot to be desired for Mett, especially if he is gonna become a team leader.

Oh blah blah blah. We're LSU, we recruit like gangbusters and we have another group of badasses coming up. The SEC is always tough, it won't be any tougher next year.

And, they were one play away from winning the SEC West and at least one play away from going 11-2 after that?

Notre Dame was two plays away from beating Alabama

I am just saying that everyone here is jumping up and down and giggling like a bunch of little girls at the thought that LSU is on the decline. It is actually quite funny to watch.

Bottom line is if we don't make changes to the offense we are likely a 9-3 team

And people have been saying this every year. We still find a way to win 10+ games.

only people who are trolling or are just plain ignorant think that LSU is going to lose 5 games next year. LSU will definitely be top 3 in the SEC West and will be right in the mix of winning it.

It's ridiculous. Florida and Georgia will be hurting just as much as LSU. And our D is a nightmare matchup for an offense like A&M. The SEC West will be decided in Tuscaloosa next year btw LSU and Bama.

I'm guessing he is talking about how LSU's defense is built for speed and not power( chavis has said multiple times he will never sacrifice speed for power in his system.) Which is exactly what you need to contain manziel.
