I don't think it was an unfair advantage at all.
LSU and all CFB teams knew where the NCG was going to be played long before, but LSU STILL had to play the 2003 and 2007 seasons and win enough games to be in contention.

not anymore of an advantage than for UGA having the seccg in atlanta or for bama having the SEC office in birmingham.

LSU would have beaten Oklahoma and Ohio State if they had played on the moon. They were clearly better than both those teams.

I had a Bama coworker make this statement. Correct or deflecting?

Did he have a point or just jibber-jabber? If just talking, when has 'fair' been a part of anything, including CFB? Is it fair the best baseball teams host a regional and super-regional at their own park? Just the way it is.
Was he denigrating LSU's accomplishments? If so, no cure for that man.

If you think the SEC office being in Birmingham is an advantage for Bama, you are a fricking idiot. Seriously.

Could it be that Birmingham is a centralized location right in the center of SEC country?

Holy shite, you people are morons.

Yeah, it's not as if the very concept has been repeated ad infinitum for the last year or so...

What the frick? How do you LSU people reconcile this kind of stuff with the constant bitching about how the schedule is fixed by Alabama operatives every year?

It's hard enough getting there through the SEC
We just happened to make 2 runs and were in top two of BCS when it was in NO

You'll have to extricate yourself from the fold to get it. Good luck.

I was surprised we had as many fans there as we did, but LSU still had more fans in the stadium than us.

Why is this never brought up with regards to USC in the Rose Bowl?

...or Miami in the Orange?

...or Texas in the Cotton?
