lots of posters acknowledge he's a really good coach, including myself.
however, he's not worth 1.7 mill. I'm just waiting to see if LSU can get Pendergast or Shoop, with Ed O perhaps joining Clancy. If LSU's plans fall through and has to settle for someone like Steele, it'll be a dark day for LSU football. I like LSU's chances for that not to happen.
With that said, I'm going to laugh when Chavis makes a huge play for his buddy Brick Haley. this is a great opportunity for LSU to upgrade at DL

Not for 1.7 mil.
But he is a very good coach. Muschump is even more overrated.
Anyway, most 95% of LSU fans will tell you Chavis is a very good DC with flaws. They all have flaws.

He will improve your defense. But the Aggs that think they will have LSU level defense in his first year, or even 2 or 3, are mistaken

It's like this, I don't think we would have lost 2 big games to Alabama in the final minutes without Chavis. But, I am also not sure we would have even had the lead to lose in the final minutes, without him. It's a paradox...you will see.

Enjoy it man, he's not worth that kind of money. I'm sure his prevent D at the end of close games will annoy you like it annoyed us. A Pendergast hire would be an upgrade, but I'm not sure we can get him.
