I remember going down to reed arena every day to help pass out water and food to refugees from NOLA.

Keep up your dead aggie jokes though. So funny.

Best of luck. LSU is a great school and has a beautiful campus but Baton Rouge sucks arse. Moved out of BR this summer after spending 6 years in that toxic soup

basically.

Talked to some civil engineers recently about Baton Rouge fixing our traffic issues and apparently there's some ambitious projects that might happen somewhat soon. College Town and the LSU lakes are great areas, but the ghetto down highland is horrible.

We're also working on improving our nightlife right off campus...

A) Trash talk involving tragedy should be either several decades old, or especially witty. This was neither.

B) To the LSU fans, I wouldn't worry about the threats of violence from the guys dressing up as soldiers.

I only read your first post. It didn't mean to make fun about the bonfire if that's what you thought. My apologies.

Huh? Did you mean this as a response to me? I certainly talked no trash about tragedy. As for my shite-talking being witty, I got a B- from one LSU poster, and a B's above average!

Katrina affected a lot of Aggies as well, we have a ton of folks from Louisiana. A&M also hosted 6 Tulane sports teams and their students after Katrina.

quote:

Texas A&M opens arms to Tulane

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Tulane sent its sports teams to four colleges across the southern U.S. Texas A&M has housed the most, with six Green Wave teams staying in College Station.

Texas A&M athletics director Bill Byrne said he called Tulane A.D. Rick Dickson after Katrina to lend any assistance. That offer was at first declined, but Dickson later called and asked if the volleyball, women's soccer, women's swimming and diving and men's basketball teams could go to Texas A&M, and Byrne readily agreed.

The men's and women's tennis teams were slated to go to Rice, but after discovering that a majority of tennis players were business majors and Rice had no business school, Dickson asked Byrne if the tennis teams could join the party in College Station.

Dickson and Tulane players say Texas A&M has been more than accommodating. The Aggies' old football locker room was turned over for Tulane's use. The Green Wave also has access to Texas A&M trainers and academic centers. Byrne is making Tulane athletes feel at home. The schedule of Tulane sports teams is displayed along with Texas A&M teams' schedules on the big screen at football games, and an e-mail sent to students and donors includes Tulane schedules. The Texas A&M band even learned the Tulane fight song, and played it at a Green Wave game.

"We've tried to make them feel like Aggies," Byrne said.

It makes me more sad about the human race than angry when I hear a Bonfire joke.

See.
Now that's a solid example of something Aggie-related worthy of ridicule.
Well done, LSUEnvy.

For real though, for the purposes of most A&M fans, the best bars to check out are probably George's and Splash. You guys should fit in perfectly with the regulars and I've heard that's where y'all's pregame meet up will be (Splash) hope y'all have a great time.

If in need of a place to stay, Staring Inn's sign said they still had vacancy for the game. It's only a few miles down Highland from campus.

As far as eats, I'm sure you guys will enjoy some real seafood at Red Lobster or Joe's Crab Shack.

Parking on game day, I'd stick to the area between Nicholson, Aster, and Roosevelt. Quick walk to the stadium and usually free or very cheap.
