They did not outnumber LSU in '12. God damn, the legend just spills out toward ridiculous.

Bama was WELL repped then, but not a majority.

Alabama had more fans at the 2012 BCSNGC.

It was a 50-50 even split in the corners but there were almost no LSU fans in the Alabama side. There were a lot of Alabama fans dotting the LSU side from where LSU fans sold their tickets.

I saw the crowd from field level.

As noted they do travel well but their fan base seemed to consist of an older crowd to a large degree. Those with tickets to the game, anyway. Good fans, pre game all wkend long. Post game, not so good as there was a lot of SEC hate being spewed.

Any suggestions of places to stay in NO for the game. Being 1/1, a lot of hotels appear to be already booked for the NYC crowd. I can find some stuff for checkin on 12/30, but probably won't be around until 12/31. Thanks - any help and info is appreciated.

do you know any military types? Navy Gateway Inn at JRB NOLA in Belle Chasse, Jackson Barracks with the Louisiana Guard (nice quarters, but borders a CRAPPY neighborhood)...the former Navy Lodge in the Federal City in Algiers...

OSU fans are like cockroaches. They will infest any city they play in and take it over. Our fans travel well given that their are several explants and the alumni fan base is one of the largest in the nation.

I was at the game. And as mentioned earlier in the thread, I did not go out after the game

Had a good time and contemplating heading back for this one.

I know when we have played them in the past they brought a lot. The 77 Sugar Bowl, 86 kickoff classic and 94 Citrus they had about the same. Out of the 76K the Superdome holds they will have about 30K. It will be obvious majority Bama but it wont be like the 13K mizzou brought to Atlanta.

The fact that so many of our fans sold their tickets to Gumps made me sick.
