LSU fans, tell us about your starting pitcher for tomorrow's game. Is he capable?

It's Caleb Gilbert, right?

How confident are y'all that he can shut the Beavers down?

When he is good, he is really good, but he is just wildly inconsistent.

He is a "big game" guy though, and it doesn't get much bigger than this, so that's good.

He had a bad game against Oregon State last time. Look for him to try to play lights-out for redemption.

ETA: he only lasted a few innings. Y'all chill TF out. I know it was that bad. Just uncharacteristic.

He can throw in the 90's and has good stuff WHEN he is on.

The key here is that he has to be on.

I just looked up his stats and it looks like he was on more than off this season.

Tide, the dude is good.

He plays well in big games like someone said earlier.

I think he comes up jacked up tomorrow and does well.

He currently has the lowest era on the team...was the closer earlier in the year...good strikeout stuff...90+...gives you a few really good innings most of the time.

He plays for a SEC team. That's all the incentive I need.

You'll find I'm a pretty fair guy when I'm not responding to stupidity. The problem is there are a shite load of idiots that show up during football season.

If he gives us 6 or 7 innings tomorrow, I would be ecstatic. The kid is good enough to do it. He doesn't have to absolutely shut them down as long as we can get some damn run support. He needs to get us in a favorable position with a small lead (with the help of our bats ), and Hess can come in and shut the door. It's not as far fetched as it seemed a few days ago after we took a drumming.

Do some of y'all watch the games? He pitched very well and gave LSU a chance. Only gave up two unearned runs when he should have been out of the inning. Oregon State drove up his pitch count which he needs to avoid this time. He threw 70 pitches in 3 innings or something like that and they had to take him out.

Caleb Gilbert has been for us, that guy who comes out in relief and chews up innings. The type where it's not dominating stuff, but you look up and we have cruised thru 3-innings since he arrived.

He's started many a week day game but is usually nails coming out of the pen.

Huge game for him as OSU has a lot of pitchers fully rested.
